my theory is, if this is real, that either the game covers Alyx retrieving Gordon after he arrives in City 17 up to him getting the HEV suit in Kleiner's lab, Black Mesa flashback for background (HL is old now and some new players might need it) and Gordon's in it, or there's a flash forward and we get a hint of post-EP2 story. or this is fake and the guy who made it is devilish enough to let the speculation run wild instead of claiming credit for imo one of the best made leaks i've seen in a while

Yes? Compare the Gordon model to Eli in the OP. Art style wise they're very obviously unrelated to each other. Gordon's hair and facial hair is way more detailed than Eli's is for one thing, while the HEV suit is kind of low-res and crappy looking, compared to Eli's detailed if cartoonish looking clothing.

The Gordon render is unlikely to be for HL:A one way or another solely because the presence of the HEV suit.
However HL:A has been largely finished for a while now and preliminary work on HL3 is likely underway, stuff like establishing the looks of characters and art style.

HL3 is actually really unlikely now. The problem is that a lot of people at Valve are either old guards who don't want to do a HL3 because of the emotional baggage involved or newcomers who don't want to do a HL3 because they want to keep the "can't count to 3" meme going.

Part of the reason HLA is called HLA is because the memers at the company want to be able to start a new "count" to the series (next game being HLB, then HLC, etc.) while the old guard is perfectly cool with playing along so as to never actually make HL3.
