Now that the dust has settled, what's the Yas Forumseredict it is really the game of the decade?
Nope. Next thread.
It was pretty good.
Amazing game, I've put countless into it
No. Fuck off with this shitty bait.
I got discouraged after realizing how bad I am at it. Like in the first stage there's that chained up dragon with like a billion health, I assumed it was meant to be unbeatable because he stomped me first round. But no, people actually defeat that fucker at the same low level I was at. feelsbadman
Hes got a quest tied to him and hes friendly wtf u try to kill him
>not doing a murderhobo run and killing everything after doing the quests for extra exp
Magic and armor stripping sucks, Act 3 is gay
It was a long time ago so I don't remember but isn't it implied that you have the choice of putting him out of his misery? Anyway once I learned that it's possible to kill him I just felt like I had to
Playing it for the first time and holy shit I feel like I found a gem. I thought it would be overwhelming as it’s my first crpg but it’s actually pretty simple.
It's a good game, personally I prefer pathfinder though.
Been getting the itch to play it since a friend told me that it's great and since I haven't played a CRPG since the first two Fallouts and Planescape: Torment like, ten years ago. Might try Baldur's Gate first tough, I don't know.
>late game enemies have double your actions points
>on top of having triple to quadruple your party size
>game devolves into watching hordes of enemies wipe your party before you even get the chance to move
real cool "game"
Don't build your characters like shit.
I just started playing, and I'm very out of my element. How do I do this?
Yes
>Keep trying to play it
>Enjoy it when I play it
>Never get past the first town
I think it's a good game, there's just something wrong with me
Game of the Decade? Hell no.
It IS a pretty good game, though.
I don't understand, every thread I see people saying it's too hard. I was angry how easy it was compared to the first, even on Tactician difficulty the game is EXTREMELY easy. I had a Rogue with Blood Sac, Adrenaline/Skin Graft delete anything in the entire game and if that wasn't enough added an Archer with Enrage 30 yard Ballistic Shot free crit which instantly stripped armor or did half their health at the same time. Stop building your characters like shit.
Yes. Name on game better that isn't D:OS1.
Protip: you can't.
HEAR YE!
HEAR YE!
First, understand AP and mobility are power. The more ap you get, and the less enemies get to use, the better. This makes moves like the Elf racial "Sacrifice Flesh" and the Scoundrel ability "Adrenaline" strong. I would advise your starting character to have a point in Scoundrel no matter what, and pick up Adrenaline.
Operating on the above notion, CC is very strong as well. Most CC require you to break their phys or magic armor before taking effect, so pay attention to that. Wet status from rain makes enemies more likely to get frozen by ice, and stunned by electricity. Knockdown also sets enemies up for 100% accuracy attacks.
Speaking of attacks, an archer or mage with high ground does a lot more damage. You can break your archer away from the team, stealth up to a vantage point, and have them attack as a "free action" out of combat.
Putting all the above together, an eleven archer with high ground, utilizing sacrifice flesh for one extra ap and damage bonus, then using elemental arrowheads to imbue your arrows bloody, can make for an absolute monster of a unit. Give them one point in Scoundrel to learn adrenaline, and that is four actions they can take in a turn. Add the executioner talent, and they are getting even more actions per kill.
That'd be some real sound advice if I could move my characters before getting bodied. Besides, if the game is bullshit enough to restrict you to certain playstyles and net-building, it can fuck right off.
The game was interesting enough in design, story, and exploration to keep me interested, but the combat system is fucking trash.
And before you say it, I won't play on piss baby story mode. I want to play a good game, not a walking/talking simulator.
AHEM
FUCK ALL THE (((GODS))), ESPECIALLY AMADIA YOU BITCH ASS HOE
FUCK THE KING
AND PRAISE SKELLYS
Yas Forums IS A FANE BOARD YOU DIMWITTED MORTAL
here have some Source, bro
How can you not move your characters? If one character is caught ina dialogue, reposition the other three characters outside of the dialogue to get better positioning, or even to open up combat for free turns.
If you're talking about moving IN combat, take The Pawn talent and get some free AP specifically for movement. Put on equipment with +Movement Speed to get more mileage out of that AP. Or invest in moves like Teleportation/Nether Swap/Tactical Retreat/Phoenix Dive to maneuver the field.
I mean, Fane is basically the MC of the story
Um, The Red Prince was a slave owner?
Thanks anonymous
Your immortal overlord is pleased
He's the best character to play as, by far
It really fun hearing him talk shit about the seven, really enjoyable stuff
He's also a borderline narrcassist too, doesn't change anything user. He mellows out and becomes a bro once he quits chasing sluts anyway
Anyone ?
I liked it a lot. Loved the amount of options you had in how you progressed, and how you could use skills like telekinesis, teleportation, sneaking, etc. to get up to so many shenanigans. Personally I felt it lacked some direction from Act 2 onwards and the power creep was pretty severe as you went on but it was still a ton of fun. A lot of people who played the first one seemed to dislike the armor system but I never had a problem with it, having to be able to deal with both physical and magic armor well made party-building more interesting in my experience.
Not really. The combat is interesting but that's the only thing good thing I still remember.
I'm talking about getting nuked by all the enemies with many more action points then me.
You misunderstand. The Red Prince being a narcissistic slave owner makes him the most identifiable and relatable character, making him the protagonist for a majority of the game's target playerbase.
Great game, but i don't think it's impactfull enought to be called "game of the decade".
Oud is the best intrument. All other instruments are reddit.
I FUCKING GET IT. HE’S DEAD STOP SAYING IT!
There's no real way to fuck it up so long as both NPCs are alive. I think I even accidentally killed Sebille in my last playthrough and still got the crate for Griff.
I didn’t realize all my other party members had the bansuri except me until I hit the respec mirror. I was wondering why I heard a flute every time. Giving everyone a different instrument really makes things nicer
>enemies set acid
>Fane is healed but armor constantly drains
Nothing is sacred is it
Get haste and adrenaline and stop being such a bitch
Based town crier
>Do the oil rig encounter
>Retarded ally npc keeps running in CURSED FIRE FOR MILES AND MILES
>He dies
WOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooow
nothing i could do
Get an ornate chest, fill in with shit, drop in on people. Have 1 character be a mule and just hold on to the chest. You can transfer items in battle no matter how far apart.
>both NPCs
Sebille and Zaleskar? Or Griff? Griff is long dead.
I am genuinely kind of at a loss here. I can't seem to progress through Sebille's quest no matter what I do.
And since everything actually does seem to point at Zaleskar in spite of how he will say nothing to me, I even tried to kill him. Turns out he dropped a heart. But while eating that heart did appear to have plot information of some kind, it still did nothing to progress Sebille's questline.
So what do I do? Is it truly salvageable until the next act? Some user from that other thread kept calling me stupid as if the act was really simple. But none of the related characters appear to do anything for Sebille's questline at all.
Dont even try saving him unless youre running two or more hydromancers, the fight without him is probably the high point of actually challenging content in the game though.
My computer couldnt handle the section, I just teleported the dude out of range, got the quest completion, then left it all there.
is this better with 2 players or 4?
Don't you gotta find some shadow guy in the lava map? And he gives you a bomb to blow up a tree. You can choose to blow up the tree or not.
Check inside the crate for the oranges?
4 Is really fun and if youre all new it actually is hard if you dont look up builds.
If you play with two players dont go lone wolf the game gets stupidly easy, control two characters each.
It don’t matter but it’s only fun if you’re casting shit on the other players making it harder for each other
Decent game, lackluster normie story, aimed at the casual dnd critical role audience.
Played the game before the definitive edition, was pissed at the numerous bugs. I liked the mechanics alot but the story/setting was pretty meh and muh "first fantasy story".
Alot more excited for bg3
2 players, but 4 is fun if you kinda want to make a competition out of it. The issue is this game has a lot of story that is weird to here in pieces, and the others have to stand around
I did do the whole imprisoned elf quest and freed Amyro. With the orange and the drugs and all. Even got the Hero tag for it.
But I am at a loss at how to proceed with Sebille's unique questline, which also involved Griff somehow apparently. But that I only learned after the fact, after he was already dead. The log says
>Griff was killed before Sebille could talk to him. She'll have to ask elsewhere.
though so I was never that worried. But now I've been about to leave the island for the first time and realized that the questline never updated in spite of everyone I talked to. So I asked for help in but some of the responses I got, I feel like don't make much sense considering they don't appear to match up with the game at all. In spite of how simple that user made sound.
oh nvm. Thinking of something completely different.
I am assuming that's stuff for the next act. I haven't left the island yet. About to though.
So I truly broke the quest for the full remainder of the act? In the other thread I was led to believe it was still salvageable even in the act I am in now.
