I hate series or cartoons where characters beat the shit out of each other for hours with no progress
Will Alvin finish the series this time?
Nope! Episode 2 will come out and he'll fall into depression once again!
Clamp would like to know your location
What the fuck was his problem
If he AT LEAST gets to the end of the Yoshi's Island arc and then gives up, I wouldn't give a shit.
The fights in episodes 5 and 6 were complete fucking bonkers and I'm genuinely curious to see if he can make them even better.
wait, he started making them again?
This
How exactly does anyone in the SMBZ verse (besides super forms) survive kilotons of pressure on their skulls, or being sent through a mountainside, or being blown up, or literally any attack besides the punches and kicks they start with?
I get it's rule of cool and it's doing what DBZ does, but it's not my style.
webm related is my kind of violence. The lack of overexaggeration just makes it more brutal. Scale this up to the power levels of these characters and you would have true kino on your hands.
>Applying logic to a series based off of vidya, and anime
What the fuck is wrong with you?
After watching the 1minMelee that was an homage to SMBZ, I really wonder how Alvin would have had Mecha Sonic interact with Bowser/Eggman's forces. Episode 8 showed that Eggman is, naturally, still pissed at Sonic, but we never got to see how he'd react to seeing Mecha Sonic with his current power.
Yeah, he's been posting Episode 2 updates on his Twitter
He's progressing through Episode 2 of the reboot.
I can't wait to see Yoshi kick some ass and then get his ass beaten in the next episode
Why did she break the bendy bit?
It doesn't bend both ways, user.
The magic words, Mecha... I've been waiting 10 years to hear 'em... C'mon, say it for old times sake...
As much as people (justifiably) shit on Episode 7, I'll always love the underground fight with Mecha Sonic
>divebombs into the ground and immediately slugs Mario in the face at breakneck speed
>then he readies his arm cannon and tries to gun Sonic down
>all without saying a word
Badass.
Yeah I know. Why did the albino girl break the bendy bit?
>yfw
I'd imagine that's easier than having to go through solid bone elsewhere on the arm. You ever snapped a chicken leg backwards to help with eating? Same principle.
How would this have played out?
Mecha would have trounced him.
>Luigi and Yoshi can't be Krillin/Tenshinhan/Piccolo parallels because they're actually useful
They're exactly how those characters could have and should have been used. Alvin had such a clear understanding of how each character could contribute. The guy needs to become an episode director for animated action shows.
HIRE THIS FAG
Mecha beats his ass into the sand for a few minutes and takes whatever emerald was nearby. Shadow starts to realize that working with the others is his only chance but wouldn't admit it for a couple episodes.
>The guy needs to become an episode director for animated action shows.
He desperately needs to work on his people skills if he ever does anything outside of his house.
Shadow puts up a fight for a while before Mecha trounces him.
Guys need to remember that Mecha had no Emeralds at this point so it wouldn't be as easy a steamroll as before on the Island.
Luigi is a Krillin/Gohan cross really. He's easily scared but mans up if he absolutely needs to and has some sort of unharnessed potential. Yoshi fits Piccolo pretty well because he's a competent fighter and stronger than Base Luigi while having a group of unique techniques due to his physiology. Then there's the direct parallels between Yoshi's Island Arc and Namek.
Reminder that enjoying SMBZ if you're over 12 is peak autism.
Mecha Sonic steamrolled both Mario and Sonic when he had no Emeralds (Shadow even calling Sonic out on that) but yeah, Shadow's probably the only one of the group that comes the close to holding his own against Mecha in a 1v1
He got sick of getting the shit kicked out of him by sonic and his goon squad for the 9001st time, so he took a bunch of robo-roids and has wrecked face ever since
Mario & Sonic were outgunned but held their own for that fight, and both were in Base states. On top of that, their teamwork improved after that fight if Episode 8 is any indication.
Being autistic is a prerequisite to posting here, user.
What’s this about a Smithy arc? I keep hearing it brought up but this is the first I’ve ever heard of it. I assumed SMBZ would’ve ended with Mecha Sonic’s defeat, I didn’t think there would be another arc after that.
Alvin planned for a Chaos Arc but no one knew how it was going to play out
>both mecha sonic and sonic start charging up a light speed dash
>they start fighting at hyper speed while mario freaks out
Absolutely glorious.
Everyone in these threads is well aware of that and not a single one gives a shit
>Shadow and Mecha fight, Mecha is clearly winning
>Shadow gets his hands on a Chaos Emerald during the fight, and rather then do the smart thing and run he uses this to turn the tide of the battle
>Shadow makes it look like a contest for a moment, before Mecha starts giving a real shit and breaks Shadows arm or something ending the fight
>Shadow is forced to flee, Mecha gets the emerald. Shadow has to consider how his actions have contributed to destabilizing the situation and made things worse for himself and his allies
There's episode titles for the original series' plan out there and it went to 20. There's arcs laid out in there although Metallix (Mecha's final form) was relevant pretty late into it. Could be that other villains would be a way to keep things fresh until that final arc. There was the Smithy arc (Axem Rangers rebuilt with a Blue member added, Blaze considered as a new member of the team), a Subcon arc (with an episode titled "The Ninja Ninjis"), and an episode called "Pit of 100 Trials".
The reboot is changing the plot around however. The pacing is a little quicker, Pipe Maze/Minus World is being cut for a King Boo arc, Basilisx is being placed later into the story, IIRC Subcon arc is also cut, etc.

Smithy was planned to be one of the bad guys in the original series as the old intro shows.
Wait what the fuck? I linked that vid without actually watching it. I rewatched this intro for the first time in a million years and apparently Smithy's NOT in there? I could have sworn he was.
>Yoshi fits Piccolo pretty well because he's a competent fighter and stronger than Base Luigi while having a group of unique techniques due to his physiology. Then there's the direct parallels between Yoshi's Island Arc and Namek.
And he's green.
He just finished up Scene 4 in Re:Ep 2 just a moment ago.
Was it that hard to link to the Tweet? twitter.com
Was it that hard to just post the picture
Anyone else feel like he's giving out too much info in regards to his behind-the-scenes plans?
Mate, we pretty much already know what happens before the Doomship arc, at this point anything letting us know that Alvin is still working is a good thing.
after years of drought he knows the people are hungry for info, and if it helps keep him motivated then Im all for it. Plus we have a pretty good idea how the next 5 or so episodes will go already
Good thin the series had progress
if the pacing is faster does that mean brawl on a vanishing island will be episode 4
My bad.
shell shock
pacing seems faster, episodes are longer, its definitely possible. I wouldn't hold my breath on it coming out any time soon though that kind of art takes time
We already know the gist of what's going to happen for the next few episodes anyway, so it's fine
I honestly want Shadow to become a third party who fights both Mario/Sonic and Mecha.
even Shadow's not that stupid. He might steal the emeralds from the rest of the group to set out on his own but he would never go so far as to start an open conflict with everyone
IMO it'll probably be something like this:
>nu-Episode 1 = Episodes 1 and 2 combined into one
>nu-Episode 2 = Episodes 3 and 4 combined into one
>nu-Episode 3 = IIRC Alvin said this one is mainly going to focus on Sonic and Shadow's backstory, don't quote me on this
>nu-Episode 4 = Yoshi's Island part 1
>nu-Episode 5 = Yoshi's Island part 2
>nu-Episode 6-? = King Boo arc
So did we ever figure out who this was?
Eggman Nega
He would if it falls into his best interests.
We won't see the 4v4 Battle against the Koopa Bros in episode 2, that'll be episode 3.
