They're here.
Doom Eternal System Requirements
I hope it has native supersampling/downsampling. I have 2070S with 1080p screen.
Also
>On GTX 970 only - set Texture Quality to Medium
>GTX 1070
>16 GB RAM
>i5-6500 @ 3.2 GHz
So I won't be able to run it at all because my CPU doesn't meet the minimum spec? I call bullshit. Doom 2016 runs on my PC on ultra settings at like 120-140 FPS.
Surely they mean 9:01PM PDT on the 19th, right?
They claim the game runs 1080p, 60fps on both base Xbone and PS4. It can't be very CPU-reliant at all.
will my Intel integrated 620 HD graphics work? It runs Dark Souls pretty well
>tfw 1050ti
just barely made it lads
Damn, they must have turned the detail up on everything because my 6700k and Vega 64 can easily max out Doom 2016 at 4k, but now it's just the recommended spec.
>tfw 970fag
>mfw get older
>mfw have 0 problems running games at medium settings
>mfw still 1440p/120hz monitor so its smooth
Anything about preloading yet?
>1060 6GB can run it 1080p/60fps on High
THANK GOD
I was worried I'd have to upgrade after seeing those early requirements.
Preloading is up now on Xbox, will be up on the 18th for everyone else.
OHNONONONONO DOOMBROS
yes. 48 hours for every platform but xbox. xbox can preload now.
gud
ok michael
>on GTX 970 only- set Quality to Medium
first time seeing a sysreq this detailed
>9900k
>for this
lol
R5 3600
16gb 3200mhz ram
Red Dragon 5700 (flashed to XT)
1440p high here we come
Based 1060 bros here we come
I don't know why more games don't give maxed out requirements.
970bros....
>120 fps
1440p144hz with a 2080ti here
Whos 1080chad here
yes my point still stands
>60 fps
you do have to upgrade...it's not 2009 anymore....60 fps feels stuttery
This can't be happening. It's like alucard all over again
oh shit I'm sorry michael
Why do games on the same generation of consoles have higher graphical requirements on PC?
this is more absurd than the steam system requirements
wtf is happening
Should I get the standard or deluxe edition?
Because on PC you're not using dynamic res and have higher graphical settings than low/medium?
Sauce on the image
Also yeah i have a 1080gtx, i actually upgraded for doom 2016, lol
Why can't they just enable those for PC?
I thought they're not doing Ray Tracing with Eternal until post-launch? What the fuck are these specs? Gameplay footage looks the exact fucking same as Doom 2016.
2060 CHADS REPORT IN
I bet you id's fucking with people that don't know shit about specs/benchmarks. A 1060 3GB is roughly equivalent to a 970 and generally around 10% slower than a 1060 6GB in benchmarks.
I mean how come playing with the same resolution on the same settings as doom 2016 requires a better machine than doom 2016 did?
I dunno, but the code is in the game
youtube.com
No idea. DOOM 2016 had a dynamic res scaler but you have to mod it back in, maybe Eternal will have it natively this time.
>No job
>No money
>GPU prices will probably skyrocket again like with Bitcoin
I hate this timeline
>Gameplay footage looks the exact fucking same as Doom 2016.
t. ray charles
I was able to run 2016 just fine with a Phenom II that I bought in 2011. Granted, I paired it with a much more recent video card but it still ran at an acceptable framerate with everything maxed out at 1080p.
One of the lead engine programmers said on twitter that it will.
1060 CHADS WHERE WE AT?
People forget that this shit has to scale to run on both the Xbone and the Switch.
Because tech moved forward. If the game comes out and the better than console settings are not an improvement over 2016 DOOM I'd agree with you. But we're talking about High and Nightmare settings here, they're PC only and I'd imagine have been upgraded over 2016.
PCfags seething itt because their ancient dust collectors can't run eternal. Delicious
Probably because High settings of Eternal aren't High settings equivalent of Doom 2016.
Wouldn't be surprised if base console settings would be closer to low settings with medium textures, since nowadays texture setting is more about memory allocation for streaming.
Seriously, what is Bethesda doing graphically to justify these hardware requirements?
The Switch version is going to be running at a much lower resolution and framerate.
1070 here.
Will be perfectly fine.
Hard doubt. This was my previous rig and it barely kept Doom 2016 above 50fps on medium.
Dude, 20 or 30 fps is fine
Mah 1060 niggas.
16GB tho.
Just because it ran fine on consoles last time doesn't mean it'll run fine this time. Switch version will probably run at 10 fps
Bigger levels, more complex geometry, more demons on screen, more advanced gore system etc. etc. It adds up.
Despite being a much bigger game than Doom 2016 it still manages to have 30GB smaller file size lmao.
>tfw my pc fits the 1440p 60fps high settings perfectly
Feels good but at the same time concerning. I guess my future proof beast is starting to reach the future
6gb fag here. high settings/60 fps sounds great
>3GBs of VRAM
280x? I have the exact same CPU at 4.4Ghz and a 290x and had zero issues maxed out at 1080p with 60fps. Either the 280x is way shitter than I remember, or DOOM needs 16GBs of RAM.
If I pre-order Doom: Eternal, it will be my 666th game on Steam.
Sounds like the devs finally discovered the magical technology of compression, thank christ for that. The 90gb install size of doom 4 was obnoxious as fuck
The GPU in question was an 8GB RX 580. It's a game optimized for consoles, so it's not going to be asking a lot from the CPU. Not my video, I had a Phenom II x6 1100T.
youtube.com
would a ryzen 2600x and rtx 2060 be enough for the highest one in 1080p
Gameplay footage hasn't made it look like there's more open-air width on levels, you can do dev trick to not draw the rest of the map when you're stuck in one corridor or room. But fine, I hope you're right.
you will become the 5th horseman of the Apocalypse
Damn, is 1440p that widely used now? I wanted to know 1080p 60fps ultra specs but oh well.
rtx2060 can do 1440p on high
The state of consumers. That's 1 game every day for almost 2 years. Even stretching that out over 10 years, that's over 60 games a year. What's wrong with you?
kek I still only play on 1080p, Guess i'll be playing ultra with my 2700x and Vega anyway. managed to run the first game on VULKAN api at 200fps constantly on max settings
1080p ultra is probably the same as the "1440p/60fps/high" cards so 1080/2060/vega 56
Because of the unified architecture in consoles you need roughly 2x the CPU/GPU processing power in a PC to equal a console.
>tfw 4790K and 980
I'm going to run this at 1080/60 on High for sure
How was DOOM(2016(?)) so well optimized but DOOM2020 needs a 2080Ti for max'd out settings? I have a 1080Ti so I'm probably fine, but its still weird.
did they remove VULKAN?
They say it's much bigger and dense now. The original had like 6 (or 8?) demons present at most on every level.
so that's ultra for 1080p im guessing
>The original had like 6 (or 8?) demons present at most on every level.
12 enemy limit is snap map only and even that is for custom spawners. in the later levels it easily goes upto 20+
It’s a bigger better looking game with a lot more enemies on screen at once and multiple game types. 2016 only had a few enemies spawn in at once.
original had 12-15 and a lot of times those were mid tier to weak demons
they seem to have went legendary dark knight mode up this bitch.
especially in master levels it doesn't seem to be rare to have several heavies and super heavies at the same time
>The original had like 6 (or 8?) demons present at most on every level.
This has to be bait or you never played on nightmare. There's like 20 demons at a time on some levels. I'm getting 1 shot by imps I didn't even see
there's a fuckhuge increase in detail across the board, that's why. d44m really didn't look that good up close.
