That didn't stop the GT characters to get in previous games, back when it was wildly agree that GT was the worst thing to happen to Dragon Ball since the Fake Namek arc.

Granted, this was still in a time before Evolution. Still, I will take a Ribriane, one Dyspo and three Katopeslas, over General Rildo and the dancing aliens any day. Also Super 17, his design and moves aren't bad, but his arc was dreadful.

Weirdly enough, that was Toriyama's idea, though he surely regret ir soon enough, because there wasn't any attempt to adapt Resurrection F to the Manga. Granted, that may have been a bles sing in disguise, even after those movie arcs, the animation quality still took some time to improve, so I rather the BoG and Resurrection F recaps to take the worst of the Production mess that was early Super, over the original arcs.

I think everybody just as characters they want more (or just hate all of Super), rather than hating her specifically. I think she'd end up with a fine playstyle in FighterZ, probably the 2nd character with a flight mechanic given her butterfly wings.

At least in previous games, the GT characters and forms were only a small minority of the roster. Whereas the Super characters and forms take up a solid third of the roster

Well, back then, the other half of any given roster was taken by the Movie Villains, which weren't that much of an improvement. Super 13? Metal Cooler? Bojack and Zangya (the real to Ken character)? Fucking Lord Slug? Right now, the only interesting one missing is Turles, and he is barely above being a Goku form. (Weirdly enough, Garlic Jr. Never gets much play, which is a shame)

And speaking of Gokus and othe variants, if people has a problem with the numbet of Gokus now, they really have no idea as to what it used to be.

Really, once the main three villains of GT are added, plus Pan, Uub and a SJ4, what do you expect this roster to look like? From Z we are only missing Super Buu and Raditz, maybe Pikkon and Dabura , with all the characters from OG Dragon Ball (and Satan) being oddities in all the games. People complain so much of the Super reps, that they ignore that outside the movies, any character of Value from Z, was already in the base roster!
