i know this is an unpopular opinion but i actually enjoy Chris's scenario more than jill's in the re1 remake and since i played it on the gamecube i've always chosen his scenario first
Re1 remake
I just started playing this game and its my first ever RE experience. Really liking it.
I just got the Armor Key and found the Grenade Launcher. Barry is pretty helpful he keeps leaving me ammo and stuff.
>NOOOOO. YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO START WITH REMAKE 2! TANK CONTROLS ARE OUTDATED! WAIT FOR THE REREREMAKE
I like both scenarios. But I feel that Jill's scenario is the canon one. At least to me
yeah it's a really good remake and honestly better than the re2 remake
jill has a nice ass and a great set of tits to look at but Rebecca is kino
I actually really like these controls. Why do people say its bad?
I played about 2 hours of Remake2 and I didn't really enjoy it, don't know why. I've never beat any RE. I've only played RE4 and Remake2 despite owning every RE game and RE4 I didn't get far in either. I thought I'd try Remake1 and I'm really enjoying it.
kek
Noice, user. And don't ignore Zero. I know that Yas Forums hates it, but it is a really good game.
Protip: leave Becca in the main hall and play with Billy! TURN OFF CO-OP! Billy can take more hits.
although i thought the re2 remake was a fun game it was disappointing after the re1 remake set the bar so high. that being said though, nothing will be as bad as mgsv was
I am trying to play the game blind and not knowing what to do but after wandering for fucking ages, I had to look up the dog whistle / fake armor key thing because I was just going from room to room like "fuck what now?" and realized I missed one door to where you use the Dog Whistle at.
I also love how the game will randomly throw enemies at surprise at you, even at places you've already passed by.
>mfw backtracking to save room
>the dude who was laying near 2 green herbs is gone (didnt get to burn his corpse)
>now there are Crows there
>the dude is gone
i'm pretty sure it is hinted at in a note nearby. the only puzzle that i've ever been so frustrated with to the point where i had to look it up was the silent hill 1 piano puzzle
I'm just shit at puzzles in general. Yeah I did see the note, about using it on a 2nd floor balcony, but I was just brainlet and didn't see it was 1 door I missed to access it.
ah it's okay fren, don't worry. half the fun in puzzles is working them out and then feeling a sense of accomplishment after you realize the solution
yeah the dog whistle thing I knew what to do but just went to 2 other balcony areas and didn't realize the correct one was back where you push that statue over for the blue gem.
I like playing blind because the armor key thing I did die too because I didn't realize you pick it up = death, but also didn't realize you can just put the key back to stop the death trap. If you weren't playing blind, the element of surprise / enemy ambushes would be pointless.
i'm probably one of the few anons that actually really likes zero. the first time i played it i got to the part with the monkeys and then i put it down but after awhile i started again and i had no problem. Yas Forums hates this game because there are no item boxes but if you plan ahead and leave the hookshot nearby then you remove like 90 percent of the games problems
chris is way beefier so the knife run is better w/ him
Wait till you get to the hunters
Really good game that I'll keep coming back to for years. It's great for binging on for one playthrough then coming back to later to try out the new modes. Only beat Real Survival and unlocked invisible enemy mode earlier this year, so that'll be waiting when I'm out of other things to play.
It actually bothers me that Zero is the only RE game where you can leave your items on the floor. Why is this "feature" exclusive to Zero? Leaving an item to pick up a herb, combining it with the one you already have and picking up the item you left on the floor would help a lot.
Jill just had something super special in REmake, her design was flawless, in fact probably the most impressive single character model that entire gen, even better than Team Silent's Heather. There is a reason Capcom of America felt confident to put her on the boxart and not Chris. She is a work of art.
My only complaint with Chris's campaig is the lack of weapons. Jill gets the auto shotgun and the grenade launcher, but Chris just gets the flamethrower and only for a short limited part of the game.
I prefer the original to the remake and I will go on to say the DS version of RE1 is the best you can buy
Fight me
The most out of control ass in gaming
i honestly like the ps1 non dualshock version the most however i love the ds version too. i can't forget the basement music in the dualshock version though, how anyone ever thought that clowns farting into a trumpet was an eerie theme is beyond me
My biggest complaint with zero is that it doesn't make me nervous, jumpy or "scared" at all and it's really designed to be more of an action game than the rest of classic REs.
The item-related backtracking is my second biggest complaint, yes I know if you use optimal/near-optimal routing there's very little backtracking but that's something that requires you to have precognition. The feature makes your first playthrough ass, but it's "fine" afterwards. Sound like good design? Nah, it's shit.
agreed, she has a great brapper
i know it sucks to do it without item boxes but i did it on my first playthrough and i was fine
Sadly the dude is only gone because he was an actual 3D enemy asset used as decoration. He is gone BECAUSE the crows are there and his data would conflict with theirs. It's just about how game data is managed.
REmake Hunters ain't shit. Fight the broken ass ones in RE1 Director's cut (PAL) Advanced mode. THOSE are Hunters.
That flamethrower literally only works on the spider too. It's won't damage regular enemies if you mod it in.
DS is fine but the knife is busted as hell. Still there is this.
>even better than Team Silent's Heather
Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
I think so bro, i really think so, and i think Heather is one of the greatest of all time. Both are works of art that stand today.
>People complain about scenario differences in 2’s remake
>Capcom removes the choice system from 3 entirely
Why?
Her Revelations ass > her RE1 ass
I mean her RE1 ass is pretty fucking big user, and no ass is going to make up for her revelations face.
They said they wanted to make one definitive story.
Chris is the canon one. Wesker getting impaled only happens in Jill's worse ending and Chris best ending.
That's one thing that disappoints me about REmake. I'm not as on-edge during Mansion 2 as I am the first time around since I can just blow all the hunters away and not worry, and even failing that, Hunters are fairly simple to run past. They don't have a hard-scripted swipe every time you run to their side like they do in the originals.
I love REmake, I can't wait to get home and try out Jill mode
because something something soulless
After playing REmake i couldn't go back to RE2make.
Its hard to feel horror or tense in re2make
Sounds like they were lazy.
I was a bit scared of them when I saw that they can eat 4-6 shotgun shells, but then I tried the simple gun and they just dropped like flies
RE1's "canon" has always been an interpreted mix though, it see's Jill, Chris, Rebecca AND Barry survive the incident together.
I felt plenty tense playing Remake 2 on hard.
user they worked on these games for 3 solid fucking years. Lazy has nothing to do with it, both REmake 2 and REmake 3 are a year late on release according to Capcom's own release schedule. They wanted REmake 2 out in 2018.
You know what I love the most about it, the fixed camera, at first I didn't like it because obviously, but then I got to the hallway with the crows and I was just amazed at how incredible the atmosphere was with the angles it took and the music in the background, it looked almost like a painting and felt like a work of art, how the hell did nobody tell me about this game before
Should I play Resident Evil 0 Remaster? I heard it was way worse than 1.
The original games beforr REmake did a good job at that as well.
don´t worry, mate
Chris scenario is the true patrician way to play the game
I played chris on my first run, too
Jill is literal easy mode for weebs
It was this angle that got you right? Fucking Kino.
>for weebs
Yes, I just stopped to look at it for a few minutes, I had to take it all in
Yeah, I might just try the first 4, boulder punch and giraffe blowjob I might not bother with
Me too, just finished him last week, I had no idea he was supposed to be hard mode
I mean, you can picklock your way through doors with Jill, and you have more inventory slots
playing Chris you really need to backtrack, and that includes revisiting sections with new enemy spawns
I played the DS RE and liked it, but I got filtered on REmake. I decided to go with "climbing a mountain" difficulty because I thought I was hot shit beating the original, but I just couldn't handle how few resources I had and how much shit I had to juggle compared to how much I needed to explore. What I played was cool and atmospheric and I'm sure it's a really good game, but it was just too much for me, especially with the new puzzles.
Well said, I'm glad you understood the strength behind removing the free camera from the player.
That's why, for me, Remake 2 & 3 are both a failure. They aren't bad games, but they do not do justice to the originals like Remake did.
>but I got filtered on REmake
I never really get this, it's for sure one of the easier RE games. Up there with RE2.
There's nothing quite like playing the original RE2 and having to stop and soak in the atmosphere but then niknakniknakniknak
Goddamned Crimson Heads scared the shit out of me when I went back to the hallway with the first zombie, made sure to burn them or shoot them in the head from then on
Funny thing is, thats actually normal mode
What sound do they make? Can you type it?
>hhhhaaaaaaaaaaaeeeggghhhhhhh....
Sounds about right
Damn, that is fine as hell
I have genuinely neglected this series for like 15 years, then played REmake and loved it. If anyone told me it's like Silent Hill with more combat I would have picked it up much earlier.
should I finish up chris' scenario on the original or can I jump to REmake?
RE on DS is much, much easier. There are fewer puzzles which means fewer puzzle pieces to carry around along with keys. Enemies die easily or are easily juked and you don't have to worry about anything getting back up, let alone burning another scarce resource to make sure they don't. By the time I was playing through Chris's mode, I was breezing through it.
That's why I chose it.
Finish it and then play REmake, don't halfass things user, that way you can compare the two games
I personally neglected it because of Res:Boulder Punch and Res:Giraffe blowjob, I thought these games were just CoD with zombies, I cannot believe how far from the truth that was
god why can't they just make a modern RE like this but hi-res pre-rendered backgrounds and extremely detailed models? They could probably achieve actual photo-realism that way
Pre-rendered backgrounds don't react to dynamic lighting too well, so no photorealism can be achieved this way. I still think it'd be a great artistic choice though.
