The menus/visual representation for Persona 5 tries to hard to be ‘’woah look how stylish this is’’ it just comes of as cluttered and unnecessary. Maybe it’s just me but it comes of as really fake for some reason.

of course it's fake, it's a video game. Real problem with the game is the shitty dungeon design
Futaba is best girl but not date-able
In that regard it's Makoto or Kawakami
Cringe and bluepilled. It's supposed to look like a ransom note
Thats the one thing i was really happy about p5 with is the almost-over-the-top stylishness. Especially when its success made other games wanna try and achieve a similar thing. I'd agree that it felt fake if it weren't that there aren't many other games that try to do it like that.
>Futaba is best girl but not date-able
Are a faggot by any chance?
Kawacummy
kys op, the UI is excellent
Futaba's basically your adopted sister m8
The first part of P5 was so damn good, I wish Atlus pushed the envelope a bit more instead of ultimately making another safe anime 'the power of friendship overcomes evil' story
>fake
>Fake menu design
What the fuck does that even mean?! If you're going to bait at least bait on something that makes fucking sense, and on a game that didn't come out two years ago!
It's okay to dislike a game, you don't need to spam nonsense threads about it every week! It's not your thing - then go talk about something that is! Talk about the things that cause you enjoyment!
Crap what's the fucking point of this, don't you have anything better to do?
>ah, is that a topic of conversation that isn't about jacking off? I better get in there and start get people talking about jacking off
Fair enough argument. I personally don’t like how over the top it is. I liked the simpler style the earlier games had. For me it just tried to hard and it’s just unnecessary. There’s just too much going on idk maybe I have shit taste but it’s a hill I’ll die on
There's even a stage play now
that's how stylish this shit is even AFTER the novelty and specialness of the overblown style and menus wears off for people
they will milk this franchise until Joker is a husk
or until Persona 6 gets announced
then rinse and repeat
>me when I see 0 waifu talk in the persona 5 thread
you kno I had 2 do it to em
nice blogpost retard
The menus and the U.I. are the best thing to come out of this game.
This is exactly how I feel like it was sorta cool at first but the novelty dropped so fast that I got tired at looking at these intricate over the top menus. I don’t even hate this game really it just became an eyesore after a while
I’m not baiting I don’t even hate this game lol
Completely agree OP.
P5 is all "style" no substance.
Except the demons are back, the demons are so much radder than shadows.
>Cluttered
I dunno dude, I never had a single moment where I thought they were cluttered.
Hell, I thought they were too simple in place of style if anything.
Amen to that.
>can't date a girl you live with who isn't even related to you and is only a year younger than you
>can date your teacher
What kind of retarded redditor logic is this?
I will cry bitch tears about Persona 3's story and I can tell you Persona 5 is overhyped and shallow as fuck. It's only held together by some good Confidants but the main storyline ia shitshow TBQH and it isn't aging any better.
Persona 4's villain twist is aging better than Persona 5's tryhard REALLY DEEP good guys are good and no gray allowed. I'll never understand the nearly 10 years of dry humping portbegging Persona 5 PS3/PS4 has gotten from a certain console and PC fanbase.
I prefer Persona 5 to Persona 3 and Persona 4
I miss P3, best game ever.
Completely agree with this the menus from every single game before was better. It’s just too out there for me. All style no substance
Yup I'm with OP. And it isn't only the menus too. Even the illustration that appear when npcs speak during the city traversal are too much stylized, it's like the screen is always cluttered with shit for no reason. It's the only Persona I haven't finished beside 1, just too tiring to look at and read (some of the worst writing I've ever witnessed)
I couldn’t finish it either I stopped at Futaba’s palace it’s just tiring to look at like there’s so much shit on screen for no reason at all
It looks bad now but when you're actually playing it, its fine. The real problem is the game itself just sucks. But before 5 came out, I always thought Persona 4 had one of the best UIs.
>mfw everything about Joker in Smash is basically based off the fucking menus because Sakurai has a boner for snazzy UIs
It's not undeserving of attention or praise, it just... doesn't deserve as much as it's gotten. It's insane. Wow stark black and white and red contrast and the letters look like ransom notes, crazy.
Persona 4 nailed the visuals. It’s simple, has a good aesthetic. Persona 5 menus are overly praised, garish, exhausting to look at after 20 hours
>P5 is all "style" no substance.
>All style no substance
Does polly want a cracker?
epic ftw it should be gray or bluescale like every other RPG ever made so your autism can be satiated
You are not wrong. Playing that Persona 5 S demo really made me notice how annoying that stuff is. Every menu is unnecessarily animated and drew your focus away from what you are looking for.
based
Uhhh it's literally a persoyna game, all the nu-persoyna games are like that.
>The menus/visual representation for Persona 5 tries to hard to be ‘’woah look how stylish this is’’ it just comes of as cluttered and unnecessary.
You would be the same faggot bitching about how plain it looked if they hadn't gone for any of the flair. It's supposed to look like a magazine cut-out ransom note.
Soulless
Someone post soul
i dont agree at all its nice and straight for word
Shit taste you have there. Wtf do you mean cluttered?literally all the options are in a fucking line with Akira posing in the background. It's fucking great
was looking, P3 was simple and minimalistic and contains the most SOUL
P5 is just a cluttered mess that tries too hard
Did you take your first UI / UX course user?
The menu is flashy and non-traditional but it's easy to navigate and uses color plus motion to make it readable. It also works well with a controller.
I need a photo of live action Joker with his mask on, rubbing his hands together. No reason.
>Persona 4's villain twist
>good
"le nihilist" is a shit "twist"
>le
Go back.
>Picks the two most normalfag waifus in existence
I bet you like vanilla ice cream too.
What happened to the Soul? Why is ATLUS like this?
I wish every game had stylised UI based on the theme or premise of the game. Generally it's just minimalist grey and white bullshit that is a bore to look at.
You're a faggot op
What's cluttered about it? I used it just fine
I know what it’s supposed to be it’s just that there’s too much shit on screen it’s annoying to look at after a while
P4 menus were soulful. No contrasts, warm colours and simple. It’s still stylish but doesn’t have all these animations n shit every time I open the menu
Talent vs no talent.
The UI is fine, the only issue with it is that some of the animations are way too long. If that was fixed it would be a perfect UI surpassed only by PC games that properly utilize the mouse like Morrowind
Which is barely touched on in the original, sounds like you're a vita secondary which explains why you think P4 wasn't steaming dogshit.
There’s a stage play for P3 and P4 too, even P4 arena. It means nothing
Continue to milk that cow, Fatlus. All jokes aside it would be kinda cool to see one of these I wonder how popular they are in Japan
Why are you guys such cringey contrarian teenagers?
The menu style alone is the reason there was an influx of “I LIKE THIS GAME BUT I ONLY WATCHED LETS PLAYS OT IT” and people explaining why you can enjoy a game without having played it. I personally like the style but the fact it changed the persona fan base so drastically like this will impact my enjoyment of it.
I actually deeply hated Persona 4 and had a whiplash response to it back in the day on the PS2. I've mellowed about it and I think it gets better as the years go by. It's still not my absolute favorite Persona game but it totally deserves to be commended for what it did. The last minute dungeon and true final boss was and is still bullshit card, yes, I agree.
They've been doing that since 3, it just really kicked into gear with 4.
At least it was actually surprising and the game didn’t beat you over the head with it from the very start of the game. I knew Akechi was a bad guy the second he walked on screen, Adachi was legitimately shocking for me since I didn’t expect a comic relief character to be the main villain.
because Yas Forums hates video games
It’s so blatant and soulless. Atlus knew they’d pander to that demographic by doing this every menu has an animation shit
>knew Akechi was a bad guy the second he walked on screen,
Not him but it was always suppose to be obvious he was suppose to be against you. That wasn't the twist at all. The twist was that your group duped him, when he thinks he's duping you and your group.
>my opinion is totally better and cooler if it disagrees with the majority, right?
Is basically Yas Forums summed up. Sometimes they're right about something popular actually being kind of shit but often it comes of like try hard / people wanting to hate something and blowing relatively minor problems way out of proportion to justify why it's sucks and you're stupid for disagreeing
P3 did that too except it was done incredibly poorly but you’re a P3fag so you conventionally forgot about it
Post games with good UI
I'm glad that Persona discussion has reached the stage where any criticism of something has to be done by some other tribe.
I’d be more okay with it if their suspicions were more justified instead of just “YOU HEARD THE CAT SAY PANCAKES LOL”. I wanted to like him but everything about him just feels like they’re obligated to have a twist villain since Persona 4 had one that everyone liked.
The undisputed king of UIs 12 years in a row.
>I wanted to like him but everything about him just feels like they’re obligated
It's a copypaste of Persona 4 and one that sinks the entire story since the shtick of Persona 5 is "UR IN JAIL RECALLING HOW UR PARTY MEMBER SOLD U OUT, LOL". There's no way they could've fixed any of that in Persona 5 Royal because the game's initial script thinks its so fucking smart and gets high off its own escape from jail farts which still has Akechi tied down to his role in the plot
