It's easier with Bulbasaur because you can faceroll through everything at 7 as long as you leech seed when needed and even crits don't impact you. Charmander makes the fight mechanically faster but can waste 2 minutes of your time if you're unlucky.

Would have been a lot better if it learned some fucking Poison-type moves naturally. The only Poison move it can learn is Sludge Bomb and only by TM, and in some Gens you don't get that until near the end or in the postgame.

I literally farmed a nidoran into nidarina I believe and taught it double kick and nidoqueen eventually for the first gym in yellow version. Nidoqueen ended up being my main overleveled pokemon I swept most of the game with LOL

Actually, it was in Gen 4 as HGSS' postgame, but that was lacking in comparison to FRLG.

The best way to beat Brock was always using pidgey's sand attack and getting lucky dodging the attacks.
