it could just be shitposters but i recall people saying a chunk of the roster aren't particularly popular among the granblue fandom, it's mainly that they were chosen to fill obvious tropes (ie ladiva = classic grappler/wrestler function)?

And so does every other mobile/gacha game company in Japan. This isn't nothing new, so I don't know why this fact even surprises you guys. I mean look at Kancolle and Touken Ranbu being region blocked for example. But I can say the thing that seperate Cygames from those other devs is that they want to branch out of Japan. I think they just wanted Granblue to gain a big enough foothole in Japan before expanding out elsewhere like America.
