They're sort of twisting the facts. Anyone can get followers, and you can have those followers "distract" the enemy for a bonus in combat at the risk of them getting killed. The character with stats most conducive to getting a lot of followers has big boobs, so in an accidental way they can do it more easily than most, but anyone can get a follower to (accidentally) die for them.

I looked up some gameplay and ended up a bit disappointed. I was expecting less number manipulation and more a variety of states and flavor text. Maybe over the course of development the player will be able to make themselves a horrible monster.
