This intro had soul
Is there any good "uncanny" horror games? Like a game that's seemingly completely normal but creepy shit keeps happening and the game just pretend it doesn't?
No scripted jumpscares. No guns.
What was the scariest NON-horror game you played, Yas Forums?
PT
freshly released Ubisoft games do that all the time.
I had an idea for a survival horror game focused around fighting copies of yourself. The save mechanic would be be pic related a spring loaded blood letting tool. It's one use and breaks, but enemies could pick it up and use it. I like the idea of seeing an enemy locking a door and using it in front of me.
Why does every horror game have this obnoxious 90s VHS filter now?
Forgot pic
Many minorities after sun set.
Make the threat real.
It isn't a game anymore
Just stop. Just fucking stop.
Less jumpscares more tension
>"I can't describe it, I've never seen a colour like this before"
>it's just purple.
But Ubisoft doesn't make horror ga-ooooh. Nice one user.
use female protagonist (preferably lesbian)
Sell the rights to EA
Fuck, I love this shit and barely know any games that do this (maye some indies games here and there where I dont even remember the name), often its just easter eggs that break with the games theme/expectations.
Like the room full of burning kids in Psychonauts, the crashing UFOs in Fallout 3/4, the hell-valley-sky trees watching Mario in Galaxy, but sadly these are all few and far in between
1. Alucard 2. got 3. his 4. butt 5. fucked
Alright, fuckers, lets stop pussy footing around it.
Favorite Goosebump book? Or episode.
I say favorite, but I did have nightmares about this one. Especially the ending where you wake up in your bed and it seems like you survive, but the knight's head is in bed with you.
Either this, or the one camp story where the sister and little brother seemingly escape, only to find out the little brother got possessed and the spirit pleads for the girl not to go back or tell on him
I had pic related and the Ghost Next Door. I enjoyed em both.
Hannaaahhh....
The Carly Beth mask episode was fucked..
Early morning alone in woods
Skyrim with scare jumps.
Viewer beware
>get into Goosebumps
>lots of cool cheesy shit like talking dummies, haunted baseball bats, whatever
>find a copy of the first one (Welcome to Death House)
>legitimately fucking terrified
I don't even remember what it was about now but goddamn
Limited but present defense options.
Remove jump scares.
Each death costs real money

Let It Die
it was fucking awful
Undead big tiddy goth girls
I kept them
Yeah, that one fucked with me. The actual mask plus when she was freaking out when she couldn't get it off. Plus didn't her brother put it on at the end or something with the implication it could just never come off again
I didn't read that many but I loved the cover art. When I was at the bookstore with my mom I would go right over to the goosebumps section and look at all the books.
Don't remember much from reading them but I do remember being terrified of dolls as a kid because of the night of the living doll series
Pic is probably my favorite cover, it reminded me of resident evil
Everyone who makes indie horror games are creatively bankrupt. They follow the most popular trend just like those slenderman games. The guy who started this was puppetcombo. This faggot is praised and genuinely liked by people despite their games being absolute shit. All their monsters/killers have extremely loud noises when you get caught and chased by them. I mean loud enough to hurt your ears and force you worry about your ears.
I had this idea last night where you’re in a typical horror game and you’re trying to sneak past this monster but instead of it jumping out and chasing you if you encounter it - it just stands there motionless and it stops making noise. You could get real close to and and it wouldn’t do anything, but it’s just the idea that it potentially could attack you. I like the idea of playing more into terror than horror, almost all “horror” games focus on the horror, making things scary, and simply not just the anticipation of something that could scare you. That’s why I love the LSD dream emulator game because it’s so eerie and it just feels off.
bring back the silent team
Virtual Reality.
Those shitty creepypasta exe games comes to mind, something like that but more subtle and not so cringy
I don't remember anything about it other than that it weirded me out
quiet, atmospheric, homeless people, disease, no puzzles
>that thumbnail
Curse my coomer brain.
Lull players into a false sense of security.
Enemies spawn randomly, few and far between.
I read one Goosebumps book in my childhood, it felt underwhelming considering I read Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
