The Gamecube had the best Nintendo games, it only sold poorly because of the mini discs that made it so it both could not play DVD's and made it so game sizes had to be smaller so it couldn't have third party games like GTA because they were too big.

Pretty much this. I still enjoy Nintendo games, but I find that I enjoy them DESPITE the gimmicky hardware, more often than I find that the hardware enhances the experience. The only exception I can think of is the DS, where the dual screen setup really did add to some games, but I don't even know if that counts as a gimmick.

That doesn't make any sense. The appeal of Apple is that it's simple, intuitive, and user-friendly at the cost of not being able to do half the stuff you can do on a pc. That's literally what the appeal of Nintendo is, and being able to jump in and out of a game anywhere on the Switch is what makes it so comfy.

asking for better = admitting nintendo isn't doing good enough so nintendo fans condition themselves not to ask for better and eat up whatever nintendo gives them. Microsoft got backlash for every anti consumer policy they put forth and tried to put forth. nintendo only gets made excuses for when they do the same thing later.
