I saw a good video explaining that Obito never took that name and acted the way he did just as a new identity or "oh look I dropped on O and swapped the letters aren't I clever". He did it because he was intentionally taking on the identity of the swirly Zetsu that we see later in the series. The same way he pretended he was Madara to fool everyone, when he was acting silly he was pretending to be swirly Zetsu/Tobi, not just making up a new identity altogether. Yeah it makes no sense to pretend to be someone no one has ever met before but still.

The Obito twist was figured out since Tobi was revealed in the manga as far back as 2006. Kishimoto retconned him into Madara during the Pain vs Jiraya arc, then retconned him back as Obito in the final war arc. Piece of shit writing and piece of shit character.

Making apologies for that chinlet won't get you good boy points. Everyone with an IQ of 100 can see Naruto has been retconned as hell compared to the series's start. Even the fights lost all meaning in regards to chakra limit and hand to hand combat, and by the end you got unlimited plot point chakra and DBZ style energy bombs and bing bang yahoo explosions. Im' not gonna get into the story itself, charcarters, Naruto being a nobody that had to work hard suddenly being the descendant of an alien bitch and having ayylmao dna in him etc. I followed this manga and saw it becoming a trainwreck. The only reason it's not considered the worst is because it had a decent start and such and such middle, and the fact that Fairy Tail is the bigger shithole.

1. Kimimaro Kaguya should not have died. Orochimaru should have been able to find a cure, and Kimi should have joined Konoha as an ally of Naruto.

2. Neji shouldnt have died, he was easily the best character and would have made Boruto a lot more tolerable to people as a "Serious Uncle teaches quirky nephew the ninja ways and preserves being the badass he is"
