But Djeeta isn't designed to be a self insert. It's pretty obvious. She gets kicked out of being the protagonist for all the media for good reason. The game is designed for beta males to self insert as Gran and fap to Djeeta. No one, including Cygames, seriously considers the idea that Djeeta can be the protagonist. Her design is actually unique. Gran looks like the most boring cookie cutter generic JRPG protagonist you can imagine and he has virtually no personality, even when in things where he talks.

Because of yaoi pairings. Fujoshi seldom self insert as women, if they self insert at all. They typically get off to male pairings and will sometimes self insert as the more feminine male. The entire basis of the of yaoi stemmed from Japanese novels and short stories written by women where the cast would be predominately men, but they were designed to be very feminine so that the women could self insert as them. They were basically women in disguise so the stories would still get mainstream exposure.

Because unlike DIscord trannies would like you to believe, men and women are very very different in how they think. The things they find arousing or attractive are different. They tend to like concepts and emotions a lot for sexually driven stories, instead of just the physical bodies of the characters. I'm not female so I can't say for sure, but I imagine it might be more interesting to imagine the feelings of two different people rather than to just self insert as one of them. It is probably why they so often seem to love pairings in particular, instead of just a single character. A lot of the popular fujoshi pandering characters almost always have an obvious yaoi pairing that isn't actually cannon, but very blatantly being forced.

We should've gotten this Djeeta honestly. Especially since Zooey doesn't look like she'll have weapon switching.

Nope. Arcs wanted to be as lazy as possible. I regret getting the season pass now since only Narmaya and Zooey are at all interesting and that ends up being fourteen dollars. Even with the special bundle with the game, I feel ripped off. Imagine actually trying to sell Djeeta for seven dollars to people. If you aren't going to have her interchangeable with Gran at launch for story mode, then there's no reason to make her Fighter class.

This week because of the anniversary event you get 1 of each max level (lvl 200) magna 1 weapon for each elements + anniversary weapon ticket so you can pick 1 of most of the in-game grindable weapon.
Also if you're lucky you can get lots of strong/good SSR characters from the free roulette rolls (from 10 free rolls up to 100 free rolls daily).

People still play Melty and GGXX to this day, people will keep playing most fighting games for a long while especially on PC.
Granblue Versus is also going to get supported for a while with new DLC it seems like so that helps as well.
