>where my preteen girl bros at
not here, hopefully
Like most works of fiction created by women, the Harry potter world makes no sense and a video game would do nothing but highlight this.
What areas would an open world Harry Potter even have besides the school?
Those preteen girls you're thinking of are 29 years old now
Your time is gone, millennial. You and your ilk are old.
>Every school year is one episode
he says in the fucking harry potter thread
>just bully with harry potter skin
They never will make this will they.
forest, wizard town, London, random muggle town where the Weaselys live I dunno where that is.
Nah. HP fans are genuinely between 20 and 35 now and still worship a series of children's books
but can i fuck the female students from all houses?
This. There is literally no economy besides either working in the MoM, being a Quidditch player, being a professor, or working in Diagon Alley
>Rumored
closed the tab right there
Who cares? Avalanche games lack in everything, especially soul.
Post em fags
Makes me wonder, what is moms tax policy?
I think most witches/wizards work normal muggle jobs.
I doubt this was a real thing.
Who the fuck cares about harry potter now? Last movie was like decade ago, that means that last book even older
Fantastic Beasts was like two years ago though
And Rowling has a play now, and she's writing new books.
I don't care about this game, I just wanted to discuss Quidditch
If you grab the snitch your team wins, was JKR that fucking retarded to come up with such retarded idea or was it solely made to make Harry be once again the hero?
>The Lighting Technical Artist will work closely with a team to create visually stunning lighting and ambiance for real world settings
does real world settings mean realistic lighting or that it's a non-fiction project, aka not HP?
I watched the first an second movie and I didn't like them too much so skipped all the others. The visuals and the general feel was way too different compared to how it was in my head if that makes any sense. And I liked my version a lot better. Ron and Hermione looked surprisingly close to how I imagined them though, but the other things not so much.
It is possible to get enough points so you can win even if your opponent get the snitch but I don't think it's particularly probable.
>If you grab the snitch your team wins
That isn't how it works. You get 150 points and it ends the game, but the other team can still win if you catch the snitch if they have 150 more points than you. It's like you never played quidditch world cup
>stopped at 2
big mistake, 3 is pure kino, 4 is pretty good too, then they become shit again
>soul
>You get 150 points and it ends the game, but the other team can still win if you catch the snitch if they have 150 more points than you.
that's never going to happen
READ ANOTHER FCKING BOOK.
Source other than your unwashed asshole?
>where muh harry potter bros
You could just say where the gays at.
Can you shit on the floor?
Happened in Book 4 in the World Cup
cool
thought they canned it
>literally happens once all series where the odds were so high that Fred and George won an absolute fortune on their wager and not even mentioned in Rowlings Quidditch handbook she sold
because she realized how fucking retarded the 150 point shit was and came up with that to excuse her own stupidity

Please, I just want to explore an open world Hogwarts. By the time we actually had the technology to pull it off, all the movie games went to shit.
3 is where I started to really like the book series, so I doubt it's the actual merits of the movie but rather the source materials'. I don't want to see the memories raped by a series of movies I don't enjoy watching much.
I honestly want a harry potter slowburn open world RPG without any of the HP main characters so bad.
the 150 points was just OP. It should be like it just ends the game, so a seeker actually would play defensive while losing.
Why? I can just play video games instead.
>without any of the HP main characters so bad.
That would be the best. Move it back (or maybe forward) in the timeline enough that the original characters are not relevant and just do what they want, it would be great.
In theory it doesn't matter, it happens so rarely that the team that catches the snitch doesn't win that it might as well not be a factor and really they should have just had it end the game with the winning team having an incentive to end the game whilst they were winning and the losing team trying to prevent the other team's seeker from catching it.
The latter, although in the old 'Quidditch through the ages book from 2001 as "Rich faggot got bored of the standard rules and offered monetary reward to catch a really fast bird during a game. The addition was popular and stuck, to the point of the bird almost becoming extinct because most of the time the players crushed it when catching it. And then some guy enchanted a fake one as a replacement."
Probably been retconned now mind, the whole thing is less than 60 pages long.
2nding
*In the book it's as explained as
I JUST WANT IT TO HAVE WIZARD CARDS HIDDEN ALL OVER THE CASTLE
From a quick google i'm guessing it's this?
wizardingworld.com
unpopular opinion, games 5 and 6 were still pretty fun
You have to create an account first, just use throwaway emails and go to wizardingworld
It's a world where currency isn't derived from labour. Since everything can be done with magic, there's literally no purpose to even having currency. Instead, it's much like the sci-fi scenarios of reputation being the currency, with wizards likely spending their time learning new spells.
90% of roasties hate sports because it takes men attention away from them. 9% will pretend to like it because they don't want their men having fun without them and 1% are lesbians who through their fucked up dyke brains pretend to crave competition like a normal man does.
so why does the game make no sense? Because she LITERALLY hates sport and athleticism and wants anyone who likes such things to be confused and annoyed at the rules.
If that was true they wouldn't have fucking banks.
this is the studio that's developing it. it's not looking good.
Explain the poor wizards and the rich wizards then. You can't.
>That would be the best. Move it back (or maybe forward) in the timeline enough that the original characters are not relevant and just do what they want, it would be great.
I think back is the best direction because then you don't have ti deal with the aftermath of the books. And you can have like some of the iconic professors still.
I think it would be cool do have like different backstory options like rich wizard born kid, mudblood etc.
Still follows conservation of mass, and the labor is highly specialized.
honestly it's pretty hard to judge, I mean how the fuck do you even go about measuring these games when they're clearly designed for kids as movie tie-ins? it's not like they have a lot of room to make a masterpiece with them
I forgot about this shit, I wrote it off as a tech demo
>rugrats royal ransom
>tak games
Damn, imagine if it came out around then, this game would be based
>I watched the first an second movie and I didn't like them too much so skipped all the others.
3 actually has a real director and is generally considered to be kino, harry potter movie or not. if nothing else i would watch that one at least.
Star Wars fans are now anywhere between 20-50, and they still worship a bunch of kids movies. What's your point?
>rugrats in paris
kino confirmed
She should've just scrapped the whole Seeker thing. But she needed to literally make Harry the most important person in every activity at Hogwarts
So you mention Diagon Alley and at the same time believe there is no economy? That wand and butterbeer aren't free, fag
True, again though, this is all from the brian of a woman so.
The game could be good if is was non-canon and could take creative liberties to actually make the setting good.
The game should basically be an expanded Bully (in structure, not necessarily that you're an asshole) where you build yourself up to be the kind of wizard you want while going out on training/adventures
Third book's the best one precisely because Harry fails at shit and isn't the center of the world.
for tie in games made for kids movies, some of these are actually surprisingly decent.
Lmao read the books, fag, you don't necessarily win just because you caught the snitch
>Open world HP game
I don't know how this is going to work, but alright. Putting RPG elements into it won't really be hard I suppose. Level up spells, level ups in general, increase stats like magic or hp, maybe throw in classes? Or like types of spells? Like healing spells or defensive spells, so people can build a certain kind of playstyle? You could put in dungeons or raids.
Hell, you could even do loot drops I guess, maybe drop different wands and robes or something. I don't think a lot of people care for loot drops though. As far as exploration goes, well, I guess that could work in a HP game. Exploring Hogwarts and the surrounding area, I mean, Hogwarts is fucking massive. Also being able to ride around on a broom as well.
There is a lot of potential for an open world HP game, so BIG if true. I'll be excited to see more information on it. Lots of potential for PvP mode as well and could do like clans/guilds maybe guilds get their own common room they can upgrade.
So was Frankenstein you draft Yas Forumstard.
>Dragonball Z
>Sagas
Welp, so much for this hype train.
Literally this. I believe she wrote the first two books more or less at the same time. Then after some reflection she realized how dumb the Snitch rule was. We sort of see it in Book 3 in the House Championship when Harry needs to wait before catching the Snitch so Ravenclaw doesn't win in aggregate. Then she does the whole thing in book 4
>whole book is about how Harry is being hunted by a murderer (apparently)
>not the center
He is literally the reason the Dementors are at Hogwarts. And then he masters a spell that most adults can't use and is able to use it mid-match before catching the Snitch at the same time
It's been a long time since I read a HP book, but I remember it being pretty comfy. Granted I only read like the first two books, but I feel like you get more engrossed in the world of HP then you do watching the movies or playing the games.
wondered if this was cancelled since we hadn't heard anything in so long
it clearly looks next gen though i guess that's why
This was my problem with Harry's character. He's basically wizard jesus who can DO just about anything that nobody else in the history of wizards can do. Learn high level spells, being a top rated quiddach player, best seeker in the history of Hogwarts, chosen boy who lived blah blah blah, etc.
I've read plenty other books in my lifetime. Harry Potter is really nothing special, but I will always remember with nostalgia when I was 12 and I would stay awake in my bed letting my imagination take me to Hogwarts. I'm almost 30 now and I still haven't gotten rid of that feel.
>entire economy is centered in one dingy alley and is based on providing school kids with clothes and shit
Brilliant
They could just add to it or change it as they please. I think the base world and concept of Harry Potter shit is actually pretty good. Hidden wizard society with a cool school made up of "teams" hidden in the mountains. Dark wizards and magic beasts and all that stuff. Its not bad. The issues with the HP universe crop up when certain spells are added to the mix and you start considering the interaction with the wizards and non wizards in that context.
If you remove apparation(or make it extremely rare and difficult) as well as a host of other dumb shit like being able to conjure water and food etc out of nothing, it can work.
Listen, it's all relative. Other people were important to getting shit done, Harry didn't really succeed completely, it broke the repetitive formula of 1 and 2 without becoming meandering garbage like the rest, etc.
Personally more of a Pendragon fan, myself.
Most of these weren’t that bad though
The books were shit, but they were the books I learned to read with so I'm always gonna have a soft spot for them.
It's literally a shonen manga.
True I agree that 3 is still one of the best books
"No!"
I think it's the only decent one, looking back. 1 was flimsy, 2 was mostly copypaste, 4 tries to cover up the lack of anything to talk about with a tourney arc, 5 is angsty meandering trash, and 6 and 7 are just garbage books overall.
Did you not read before you turned 6?
Well I've read all of these.
Wizards and Witches seem to spend their money on magical objects like cloaks, potions, brooms, etc. Looking at Hogwarts students very few seem to take any interest in learning more spells to do crazy shit.
Other theory would be the ministry has hard regulations on what you're allowed and not allowed to conjure in order to keep things afloat
Oh yeah? Well I've read all of these.
>tfw read the manga
And how is this worse than most RPGs?
Why were there so many beans in the older games
I've read the manga as well. Also started reading through Demonata but never finished it. I should go back and start from the beginning.
Every Flavor Beans were a big marketing thing. I think they still sell them.
