It's mediocre to be quite honest. Recently played Disco Elysium, that's better RPG for example. If you want better gameplay, you look no further than pretty much any platinum game. When it comes to open world games, pretty sure that zelda breath of the wild was better. Honestly i liked witcher 1 and 2 more.

Honestly just cleared the game for the second time since I first played it and it's even better than I remember. Currently doing Toussant again, which was my favorite part first time around and the jump in how gorgeous the area is still pretty staggering.

Skelligan inkeepers stock way more than 1, and you really have no need for overpowered superior alchemy items until the endgame anyway. If anything it's too easy to get all your potions.

It had a good world to explore and a good lot of content but the combat was garbage. I can see why you'd consider this the best game ever if you didn't care about gameplay though

The combat is weak, but I find it fun. The game had a cool bestiary with a ton of unique feeling monsters, cool bosses (especially in the DLC) and a lot of tools to deal with them. It's still leagues more fun to play than any equivalent western RPG.

Here one more gear grind for me, to apply a blade oil (unless I missed something on ps4) you have to:
>open menu
>click left for inventory
>press x for intentory
>switch to alchemy tab
>select an oil that isn't labeled until you hover over it
>press x twice
>exit inventory

It's a great game and i fucking love it, but i still wouldn't call it the best
