Watched a movie last night where a girl saved the boy main character from a life threatening situation, and the group of characters kind of acknowledged her as the badass of the group. The story would then isolate the boy main to save the day on his own, but still, I can't help but imagine fuckers watching that one scene and then foaming at the mouth.

Thing is if you really want to target a female audience you need to make games that females would want to play.
Throwing a few female operators in what is essentially an FPS isn’t really going to do anything. The girls who play those games are the ones who want to play FPS. The characters being female isn’t really driving a purchase - it’s a nice to have a best.
Shit like puzzles games, RPGs, social games, city-builders, item management games are what lots of women like playing. Hell, look at how popular handhelds were with women back a few years ago.
