Why can't Yas Forums learn ASCII? The greatest games of all time like NetHack and Dwarf Fortress require ASCII to be played properly.

There are 1500 tiles on a nethack floor, 2000 minimum in Dwarf Fortress. This much data cannot be properly conveyed graphically and never will be. Every tileset looks like a meaningless clusterfuck.
You MUST learn ASCII.

Nethack is boring as fuck. Once you get through the UI through a cheat sheet, you'll notice that the game has no depth beyond muh secrets and muh wacky immersive interactions.
It's the "Dragon Quest" of roguelikes. It was revolutionary at the time and a worthy successor to Rogue, but now we have roguelikes that aren't JUST about dungeon-crawling.
DorfFort can be played perfectly fine with tilesets, you'd have to have actual brain damage to think otherwise

NetHack is a nonlinear puzzle game that pushes orthogonal design to its absolute extremes built on top of a roguelike. Your ignorance only shows that you haven't gotten very far in it, if you played it at all. Nothing even comes close to it. You are probably referring to games like CDDA which aren't roguelikes at all and poorly designed disasters.
It does not. Dwarf Fortress looks like a complete mess with tilesets and only a retard would use one. The point of graphics is to convey information visually and if tilesets detract from this they are objectively worse than ASCII. Yas Forums cannot swallow this pill because they are casuals that mostly play cinematic movies games.
