Like, too many vidya movies deviate too heavily from the premise of the games. This movie, however, just does what the game does. Which is killing an absolutely stupid amount of zombies.

Hell, they even mildly poke fun at the "Add new mary sue character" thing that several of these movies do. The squad who we think is going to be the cringe dudebro gang gets torn the fuck up and Kyle just does his thing.

Iizuka confirmed the "two worlds" thing recently, which is why Sonic Forces/IDW Sonic has only anthros.
And planet isn't even called Mobius.

The first director quit mid production when he was told that the movie he was making was not a blade Runner ripoff, but in fact a Mario movie. So instead of scrapping the whole set, they utilized it.

I thought they were making a Red/Blue movie. Good thing too. Detective Pikachu was a good test run of the Pokemon models. Now have those models actually do some fighting.

No, that makes sense. All the time fuckery that happened in Generations created two dimensions, Classic and Modern. The events of Mania never happened in the Modern dimension's past, and the events of Adventure onward haven't happened yet in the Classic era. And they might happen differently, or not happen at all, since classic Sonic, Tails and Eggman all have knowledge of future events-- Eggman knows that all of his schemes will fail, he might not even bother doing anything like unsealing Chaos or awakening Shadow.
