The psp version lets you play as maria tho pretty sure the latest versions do too.

depends on how you approach it. its too easy if you use crissaegrim/that one shot shield rod shit but otherwise i think it feels reasonable. also yes, the old voice acting is endearing, i like the librarian personally.

It's easy no matter what you do, even if you just use a boring Alucard sword later in game. The game was not balanced at all.

That's fine. Alucard isn't ever shown to be interested in men though or even shown to have any sort of intimate feelings towards anything.
