Please tell me that you don't actually spend real money on this useless shit, right?

people who use trading cards on steam are incels.

i sell them and buy discounted games from the money

I used to sell them before Steam made it obnoxious. They should let me bulk list things worth less than $1 without needing to swab my asshole to make sure I'm not getting robbed for all my pennies.

No sweaty I spend steam credit on cards to level up which gives me more cards to sell
I've probably made like $100 off selling these things

never used em, what's that anyway

>He cares about steam "levels"
Hate to break it to ya, but no one outside of yourself gives a shit about your profile.

Please tell me you realize that cards are obtained for free by playing games and that if you really want to complete a badge you can just trade cards with a trading bot or sell the cards you don't want and buy the cards you want with the resulting store credit thus avoiding the use of your own money.

you barely get any more free cards at a higher level, like almost none at all. it's much more worth it just to sell the cards instead.

I sell mine

Anyone here have NOT crafted a single badge since the trading cards became a thing? I just sell all of mine.

There are many inventory plugins that can do auomated listings and if it's below as dollar you don't need your phone. Gathered a few hundred games auto idled them made $40

I sell mine and let it build up then buy enough for a badge or whatever for a game I like

Every time I get to about 50 cards or so I give them away to my friends that seem to care a lot about them. I couldn’t care less about them.

Back when I still got booster pack drops, I'd sell duplicates and use the money I got from them to craft badges. Now I haven't gotten a booster pack in like two years so I can't really craft badges without spending out of pocket so I just let them rot on my account.

I sell TF2 crates for like 3 to 10 cents and buy some cards Im missing for a badge.

>Now I haven't gotten a booster pack in like two years
You can blame the badge collectors for that. After a couple of broken events that made it too easy for whales to level up, your account might as well be level 0 if it's not at least level 500.

I spent $16 on the foil badge for nier

I like that game

I spend the money I make by selling the doubles I have.

I sell them.

How do you extract your money out of steam?

You don't.

>have enough money to buy entire steam library ten fold
whats the point

No official way, but there are sites you can trade skins for paypal or whatever

>tfw cards where 50 cents each in trading card beta

are you retarded?

19 euros will barely buy one game, let alone an "entire steam library". Are you some dumb Americuck who doesn't understand that Europoors use a comma instead of a period when listing financial numbers?

>Europoors use a comma instead of a period when listing financial numbers

Not to separte Pennies/Cents from Pounds/Euros dumb cunt

You really like making yourself look stupid, don't you?

gift game to alt account, sell alt account for real money

I really hate being notified that I got three of these retarded things. I don't care and never will shut the fuck up gabe.

>visit friend's place and start dicking around on his PC
>he comes up to me with a face beaming with pride
>"dude there's something I want to show you"
>opens his steam profile and shows me all the badges at max level he has for a game series he really likes
>"what do you think?"
>he seriously expected me to be impressed by this display of brand loyalty to a game series
>a series that he claims to love even though he's sitting at the bottom for hours played among my friends in all of the series' games
I don't really bother with them, I do sell them whenever I get them to chip in whenever I buy a new game, but I've noticed quite a few of my friends don't even bother selling them, but the few who do buy them, buy a lot.

Check mate autists, I'm from Britain.

And if you weren't aware, were not part of the EU anymore.

That doesn't make your original retarded comment any less retarded you slackjawed fucking chav

Maybe, maybe, but it still makes you a Europoor and me a Independent Nation Chad

Europoors actually do this

you're a total fucking retard. literally room temperature IQ

Uk is not independent

I buy cheap ones every now and then. I've probably spent maybe a whole $2 total on cards. I think the ones I sold actually gave me more than that.

Stay mad europooooooors

get an education

His post was clearly about making money, and using Steam levels only as a means to that end. There's no way he actually made $100 from selling cards in less time than he could have made the same amount of money by getting a damn job, but that doesn't excuse your illiteracy.

I got 3 cards out of a game. How do I get the rest of the cards?

I also heard you can sell these useless shit for real life money to buy videogames. Is that truth?

Also, what are badges and how do they work? Steam doesn't explain shit

Yas Forums cares

>I got 3 cards out of a game. How do I get the rest of the cards?
You either buy them, trade for them, or you wait for booster packs that are randomly given out to people at random times, per game. If you get lucky you might get the booster pack with cards you need

>I also heard you can sell these useless shit for real life money to buy videogames. Is that truth?
You can sell them on the steam marketplace for steam store credit to buy games with.
Only like 2-3 cents per card though

>Also, what are badges and how do they work? Steam doesn't explain shit
Cosmetics. You get one for collecting all cards in a set, then it gives you a background and emote and the badge
They do nothing of note

Imagine being this retarded and giving away free money for free lol

The point is to buy steam games you fucking retard

lmao

Video game girl here, which one of you boys wants to buy me a game?

get with the program, user
github.com/Nuklon/Steam-Economy-Enhancer

oh yeah which video game are you from?

>then it gives you a background and emote and the badge
That's cool, I want one (1) badge then and the rest I will sell it.

Thanks bro.

The background and emote are random from the game's emotes/backgrounds
If you want a specific one you're generally better off buying it off the steam market (Generally also just 2-3 cents, which you can spend your store credit on after selling cards)

typically I sell the cards unless I see an emoticon is worth a lot then I try to make a badge to get it then sell it.

There used to be some pepe emoticons that would go for a lot, then they got removed, trump's emoticon went for a bit, nto sure how it is now but that badge is maxed out for me, etc.

>19 euros
But the image shows 196 euros.

Also,
>19 euros will barely buy one game
lol. I mean, okay, I know I'm nitpicking now, but you can absolutely get multiple games with even just €19.

Believe it or not — and, in fact, I'm providing proof because you won't believe me otherwise, because this is one hell of a coincidence — I just checked my transaction history and, including tax, the amount of money I spent during the last Steam sale ($9.22 + $10.10 + $2.12 = $21.44) is exactly €19.00 by the current exchange rate according to Google, and with that €19.00, I got 8 games. Most of these particular games are dumb indie shit, because I have a soft spot for dumb indie shit, but it's equally true for older games. So you can easily buy a handful of classic games with €19.00 if you're not a graphics-obsessed little kid.

Maybe you should look beyond the best sellers next time there's a Steam sale. But I know you won't. You sound like your library is just Skyrim, Call of Duty, and Madden.

>buy a bunch of weebshit games and VNs because i like them
>they always have overpriced cards
>whenever a sale comes around I have enough steam credit for a couple of indie games that are pretty enjoyable.
I doubt I'm making a profit but cannibalising my money to get a few more games I like is fine enough for me. I didn't know about OVERWHELM and it does look fun so thanks for that image.

> that period when you could trade one trading card for one scrap metal in TF2
> but each scrap was worth fractions of a cent, so you could make a profit if you bought and sold in enough bulk
I really wish I took more advantage.

>eligible for a free steam card drop for 5 years+
>never got a single one
Okay?

I've never really sold cards besides the holiday ones because they expire. How much free money do I have here?

Attached: look at all these cards.png (148x94, 2.06K)

This but unironically this time

OVERWHELM is all right. I think it was $3.99 during that sale, and I've definitely gotten better games for that amount, so I almost wish I waited until it was even cheaper. But it's not bad. It's just a relatively simple game that might not provide a ton of entertainment hours, and it has a couple of weird design flaws. The camera often waits until you're nearing the edge of the screen before moving to reveal more of the map, which makes it dangerous to go fast because you might run straight into an enemy that wasn't visible long enough for a normal human to react, so it just forces the player to go slower in a kind of tedious way. Also, bosses teleport for some reason.

Like ten bucks, tops.

I've bought a few to get a couple badges or emotes, but other than those exceptions, I've sold them all

Attached: file.png (269x73, 7.73K)

>he doesn't know

If some of those are from VNs their value will be slightly higher than the usual 1 cent. Foils too obviously

Well, I'm sure you can get at least $0.01 per card. There are some cards that have tons of $0.03 sell orders and nobody buying, so those cards might just sit on the market forever even if you set the price at $0.03 which is effectively the minimum. (Keep in mind that $0.03 to buy means the seller gets $0.01.) But there are plenty of other cards for which you can get more than $0.01, and that should make up for any cards that are literally so worthless that you can't get anything for them.

I'm not saying you'll actually get $0.01 per card on average. I'm just saying it's got to be at least that much, unless a huge number of your cards simply cannot be sold for even $0.01 which would be ridiculous. So with 4678 cards, you'll get at least $46.78 if you are able to sell them all. I don't have enough data to tell you how much you'll actually make per card on average. Some are worth more than a few cents, and some have bottomed out at the minimum of $0.01. It might be $0.02 per card on average across all cards; I don't know.

I think is right about cards for weeb games, though. They always seem to be worth more. So if you have a lot of animu games then you might be in luck.

>Like ten bucks, tops.
Cards can't be sold for fractions of cents last time I checked, so that would imply that he can't even sell the majority of his cards. I really doubt that's the case.

They give more card drops/booster packs to higher level steam accounts
If you aren't already getting them, you won't get them later either

i do but you shouldnt
though the race sale is the only reason why im over 100

Attached: steam xp.png (612x55, 2.93K)

use a tool like the one linked and you'll be able to list them all fairly easy. with that many cards though steam might ask you for your tax information, but iirc that's a one time thing and pretty easy to do. confirming all those trades on the steam app might be a bit of a pain though, but you've easily got like $50 sitting right there
