>dude just max speech lmao
Dude just max speech lmao
>dude fuck options lmao
Hello? Based Department?
>conversating with tr*bals
>IF ARMY GO WEST, WAT BOUT EAST?/?
>You are right, as Caesar's top military commander and most trusted war leader, I never thought to consider such a thing. Truly your tactical genius has bested me in verbal combat, I shall take my leave.
10/10 ign
mini nuked him him without even realizing it was him
how does shit like that even work in universe? does the player character just say the line in such a way that he couldnt without a certain level of skill? thats stupid. what happened to actually thinking about what you're saying during conversations? when you see that a dialogue option that tells you it requires a certain speech level, often times there is no reason to not pick that option. it removes all thought from the conversation. maybe I would forgive it if the dialogue options that required a certain skill were really smart or clever but no, its usually just "u shouldnt do dis" and the other guy goes "okie i gues u hav a gud point".
Fuck this shit.
If you're not maxing speech every playthrough you're a brainlet bitch. I'll never ever pass any barter checks though, barter is a dweeb bitchboy skill.
Even If I have max speech, I still kill him every game anyway.
now thats a 100 speech poster
daily NV shit-flinging thread!
there are mods that remove the [SPEECH] indicators from the best dialogue options that make you think a little more, they're good.
>East no west and west no east.
>k bye lmao
>game with rpg elements where you progress and access new areas through dialogue
>doesnt max speech
its like you dont enjoy games
DUDE JUST MINMAX A RPG
>dude just go into the radioactive room and die, it doesn’t matter that I’m immune to radiation, it’s your destiny
Speech almost always just skips combat and other content.
fallout new vegas would be 10/10 if it took place during the first battle of hoover dam
imagine a conversation with graham, and trying to make him retreat, kino
yeah and i admit the final dialogue with Lanius is pretty weak as you don't have any alternatives besides maxing speech out.
>dude if you are here you won't be there
>WOW I AM DEFEATED
Didn't they literally do the same shit in the East tho? Why stop now because one guy tells you'll overstretch your logistics?
in the east they fought retarted tribals, not the ncr
In pillars of eternity DLC there's a part where you debate with ancient beings and you have to make your case and if you just pick random and conflicting arguments they call you out instantly.
It's so dumb. I don't know why people defend these garbage games. They don't even flow naturally, there's so many times where you'll get an npc vomiting his problems out onto you and you click the highest speech option and he's like "oh lol ok you're right bro"
>waaaaah a tool is too powerful
Then don't fucking use it.
The fact that you only need Speech to defeat him verbally is unforgivable. You don't even need high Intelligence, you can be a literal retard and as long as you put all your points in Speech you just click 5 times and you are done.
Fucking retarded, and people claim this game is well-written.
dude trust me you can't expand any more, you'll be spread too thin
nah bro even the very important dam literally right next to your territory is too much!
this, its fucking dumb, specially with someone as warmongering as fucking lanius, i rather just make him into a Thicc paste of gore using my anti-material rifle, fuck all these roman LARPers legion fags
>game gives you multiple options to defeat somebody
>one of those options is maxing a skill
>you literally wouldnt know this on a first blind playthrough
>youd have this knowledge in subsequent playthroughs, thereby making the game easier just like every fucking video game in history
haha, yeah surely no one will attack this dam after we take it :^), it wont be a strain on our resources to defend this position
I literally did a speech/charisma character on my first playthrough because I wanted to be a moralfag
daily reminder
Instagibbed him with the AM rifle. Got an awful Fable 2 PTSD when I realized he was supposed to be the final boss.
ah yes, because the NCR will leave them alone if they take over the dam right?
he doesn't even attack you for the hell of it, Caesar says Lanius is just a wild dog on a leash and the guy is like "Wow, you speak so well I will leave you alone now"
>you literally wouldnt know this on a first blind playthrough
yeah it really takes a super genius to pump speech in a word vomit rpg. deluded fanboy.
What the fuck is the Legion going to do with the Dam? They're an army. They have no farmers or crops. They ran around wasteland Arizona for 30 years without dehydrating. They don't need the power a hydroelectric dam puts out to charge technology they don't use.
Even fucking Caesar is only there because the Dam is important to NCR, he wants the city of Vegas more than he does a giant wall that pisses water on lakelurks.
Those tribals are far more dangerous though.
>make a character dedicated to talking out of situations instead of fighting them out in an RPG
>its viable
Why is this bad? Isn't this better than the conversation ending in a shootout? You solved the problem a different way and this is bad now? Sure it could have been better than "click here to win", but they still went through the trouble of putting it in for speech builds. This is the second thread about this encounter today alone, Bethesimax is probably going to show something soon about TES VI if these constant threads are being spammed.
Caesar is lying to you and immediately contradicted by two of his subordinates
˞˞ ˞˞ ˞˞ ˞˞ ˞˞ ˞˞
the speech options is right there even if you don't meet the requiered speech level dumbass, way to show how you didn't even play the game
>Why is this bad?
Because it is lazy. In Fallout 1 you could also defeat the final boss by speaking but in order to do that you had to fulfill certain conditions and get certain items.
In FONV you just max out Speech and that's it. It's lazy, inexcusable and only fanboys defend it.
how are spear chuckers more dangerous than fags who have vertibirds, machine guns and sniper rifles?
20 months vs 4 years
but its totally true. He knows that the legion holds the east and boasts about it, but at the same time he knows that since its little more than a gang of incels that has no structure or loyalty, that they couldn't possibly hold it if they pushed west. They would just be trading places and losing manpower and time (caesar cancer) while they did it
Like I said, only fanboys defend it.
I don't know what this shit is (probably some New Vegas NPC), but not maxing speech/charisma in any RPG for a main character is a retard move.
Because you take the exception as the norm. The majority of NCR soldiers are low morale, low strengths cucks. When buff tribals come running at you and push your shit in while your rifle jams you would most likely run away.
The one that pissed me off the most wasn't even Lanius, it was that stupid hostage mission in Boulder City. You get there, the ncr captain literally says something to the effect of, "I have no idea who you are but yeah ok you go handle the crisis or whatever lol idc", and then after you pass one speech check the guy who had no qualms about helping to put a bullet through your skull and leave you to die in a shallow grave is like "damn let the hostages go? i hadn't thought about it like that, you're right". So fucking dumb
You can max out barter.
WTF, I got PWNED epic style!
>the speech option is right there
Yes you fucking moron can you even read? That is literally the whole point of my post. When you first play through the game and you get to this part YOULL SEE THERES AN OPTION TO BEAT HIM BY SPEECH. That is what I said. Good job being able to infer that part but miss the point of the rest of the post fucking retard
>he actually talked with Lanius
what kind of a queer are you?
>let the hostages go and I'll talk NCR into letting you go
Yeah, doesn't sound quite so stupid when you use what's actually written
You dump all your points into speech on your first playthrough lmao? Autism
should have made it you can only talk him out of it if you completed certain quests or talked with certain people so you learned more about the legion, not that dificult to do
ok tribalboi, have fun getting fucked by snipers, just like at the first battle of hoover dam, remove legion ncr best
So was I the only one who chose the option to convince him it was a trap by the NCR? Like the one Joshua Graham fell into?
That seemed like a better option.
Reminder that the Legion took the Dam the first time
Reminder that all the snipers get slaughtered because they're deliberately put in a terrible position the second time around
Reminder that not even a camp full of rangers or an airfield of artillery can actually stop the Legion in their endings
>HURR WHO CARE ABOUT SHIT GAME DESIGN
that's only an option if you beat lonesome roads i think
Yes, it sounds so much better when you take into account that you as a complete stranger with no leverage over the ncr are tasked to uphold an agreement with a man who helped in trying to kill you. Never mind that the same ncr captain almost immediately tries to betray the "agreement" anyway. Flawless writing 10/10
Options are good but they should make sense. You can't convince Frank Horrigan and you shouldn't be able to convince Lanius.
> Never mind that the same ncr captain almost immediately tries to betray the "agreement" anyway
because he is a corrupt fuck, you can even bribe him to let the khans go
>shouldn't be able to convince Lanius
Why? Because you believe the propaganda that he's just a mindless brute?
