Halo CEA's anniversary graphics are atrocious. 343 didn't even try to capture the same look, feel, and atmosphere that the original graphics had. All they did was slap a bunch of Reach and Halo 4 assets together and called it a day. It's simply unacceptable.

I wasn't aware, and I'm not surprised. It seems like there's a trend of major companies outsourcing their biggest IPs to literal who pajeets and having the results being subpar at best. When will they learn to do it themselves. 343 is still a complete mess though, considering the disappointment that was Halo 4 and the complete dumpster fire that was Halo 5. I hope that they learned from their mistakes and are going to make Infinite actually good. I hope.

That is not the case at all. I would've loved to see warcraft 3 reforged succeed. All they had to do was to improve the graphics. Just a modern, fresh coat of paint so its up to standards these days.
While not touching the original warcraft 3. That is all they had to do. They messed up completely.

The terrain in the distance is much better, but there's too much green.
A purist would have kept the cliff walls and overhangs in.

They're trying to ground it in realism when they didn't need to because the whole thing is supposed to be artificial and mass constructed

I took out the comment because I misspoke about the art style. The style was very deliberate by 343i, but yes, the actual work was all outsourced to a few studios.

CE and 2A's campaign was outsourced to Saber Interactive, who supplied the new engine, and produced the new visuals.
Certain Affinity did the multiplayer
Blur did 2A's CG cinematics.

If you'll notice -- the art styles vary wildly because of that outsourcing.

On CE:A, the new look on the campaign was ripped from 343i's work on Halo 4, but Certain Affinity modelled their multiplayer maps after Bungie's designs.

On 2A that was rectified, Saber and CA's work matched 343i's new style for both modes, but then Blur missed a memo and produced content modelled in Bungie's style for their cinematics.

It's considered a downgrade because of a slew of missing and broken effects. It happened because the MCC/Anniversary is based off of Gearbox's PC port of CE from back in the day.

Gearbox did a poor job porting the game.
