>Battletech was shit
>Mechwarrior 5 is shit
>No more mechassault
I miss this franchise so bad, Yas Forums
Battletech was shit
How the fuck was battletech shit? Its a great turned based strategy game.
Wasnt it full of minorities, and made by a tranny? Sounds fucking gay
Fuck you're retarded.
white people mecha (tanks with legs covered in rivots & dogshit) not even once.
It's super watered down compared to tabletop, basically just a turn-based warrior. Plus half the missions are randomly generated bullshit
>Can't use trees and fallen mech limbs as melee weapons
>No controllable tanks
>Shit story that isn't even about the player
>>Battletech was shit
no
Not being like one thing does not make the other thing bad.
It's complete trash
MechCommander Gold HD when?
Mech commander 2, too. I loved calling airstrikes in that game
Dilate tranny.
Found the faggot
PROBLEM LANCE LEADER
JAGUARS ARE SPLITTING UP
>can deploy only four mechs
>great turned based strategy
Nah
this has replaced actual discussion
more unique than muh literal normal space marine except we scale world down so person seems massive and we translate it to "mecha" for western audiences.
nip mechs are pointless. Only reason they qualify as mechs is cause they're big. That's it.
>this franchise
Fuck the franchise, what about the genre?
Not him but I ran into a lot of problems playing it. Poor performance because lol unity engine (I'm not going to lie and say I've got an excellent computer but if I can run MHW at 30-45 fps on my midrange computer on a mix of medium/high settings I don't see why I'd get shitty performance on an indie unity game aside from poor optimization), a bug where the game would just get stuck on what I'm guessing was a loading screen (dropship in the stratosphere or something), and on top of that at one point it crashed and whenever I tried to launch it after that it just crashed on start up with a black screen and I'd have to open the task manager to force quit the game. Oh and there was one bug where every time a new mech popped up their textures would be fucked up and just one solid color.
Basically from my short experience with it it was a broken and unoptimized mess.
COPY GROUND COMMANDER, WE'RE ON THEM. FIREFLIES ONE AND TWO, TRACK THE THOR!
Mech5 is okay in short bursts. I wish the story missions were closer together.
Both of those games are great though. Dumb shitposter. MW5 is everything I hoped for.
>>can deploy only four mechs
lmao he can't win missions with only a single lance.
Your expectations are so low I have a wall of drying paint you can watch for 60 dollars while your at it.
>Battletech was shit
Also, roguetech is turning into shit
dilate
Something I never understood was why the pilots in the prerendered intros were so fucking retarded
MW2
>"Oh fuck a summoner just smoked my buddy, better walk toward him and tickle him with my machine guns"
>"Fuck I'm out of MG ammo and too stupid to use my lasers, guess I'm dead"
MW2 mercs:
>"DON'T WORRY KID I'LL TAKE CARE OF THIS DRACONIS SCUMBAG!"
>Merc chick misses Draconis mech that's at extremely close range and stationary and gets her mech's arm blown off
MW3
>"Yo bitch, let's jumpjet towards that summoner, fire a few SSRMs at it, and land directly in front of it! What could possibly go wrong?"
>"FUCK HE BLEW MY MECH AWAY WITH HIS PPC! HOW COULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED!?
Battletech literally MELTED peoples GPUs when it launched, it was horrific
>Roguetech still hasn't been updated
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
its on heavy metal/1.9
youtube.com
They stop being retarded when they're being directed by a mechcommander
Hbs BT was a big disappointment.
Virtue signaled during marketing.
4 mech drop limit.
Limited tactical gameplay that merely results in "bigger is better". Never a reason to field a balanced lance.
Overpriced dlc that ruins the setting, and dumps excess power into the players hands.
Shit story that railroads your character into giving a fuck about some dumb bitch and her problems.
Another disappointing mechlab.
Rather than move the franchise into a unexplored timeline [jihad], takes place in the most boring era.
Ass performance.
Evasion mechanic ends up being worthless, meaning you level up every pilot the same way.
If someone just copied megamek and mekhq but gave it graphics, it would blow this shitheap out of the water.
Mw5 also sucks dick relative to any of the previous games in the series.
Kek this. Also, as a toddler I thought that the skull decal on the Timberwolf at the intro of MW2 was the actual pilot. Sometimes I still imagine mechs piloted by skeletons.
>4 mech drop limit.
i love when people get upset by this one. they never said it'd be more than a single lance right from the start.
mission control allows up to 8 mechs
If I was running a dev studio one of the biggest rules I'd implement would be forbidding employees from associating their personal social media accounts with the game. Stuff like that is just begging to start a shit storm. Keep the company shit off your personal account.
Since when?
Latest supported version has been 1.71 for ages.
So because they said it was shit from the start it's okay to be shit?
1.8 and 1.8.1 were also supported, check the trannycord for the new launcher
it's not shit tho. stop being bad at the game.
That's right.
It was a shitty design choice from the very beginning, and gee wiz, it ended up butchering any chance at having to use your brain to finish the game.
>he thinks have more mechs = using your brain
lmao
Mech 5 was ok untill the point where missions become so fucking hard because the game keeps spawning a million enemies in thw later missions
>Only get one lance
>Enemy Ai is fucking stupid, targeting and positioning randomly
>Difficulty comes from enemy being able to field a dozen assault mechs late game
Early game is fun though
>you think deployment limitations create tactical depth.
when in reality all it does is put limits on how much variety the devs can make when designing missions.
Having the ability to even drop 2 lances opens the doors for all sorts of mission design that requires more of the player than just drop your 4 biggest Mechs and roll over the shit AI.
Not that HBS would even be capable of capitalizing on that anyways.
Will do thanks.
Judging from the cRPG civil war going on in other threads, the current year audience is much too brainlet for real time tactics.
The fact that you need to use a mod to fix enemies magically popping into existence 200m away from you tells you how good that game is.
Nevermind how since you can level up your "evasion", demolitions and raids can be solid by the player in a spider because the enemy is being forced to miss 80% of their shots.
you don't have 2 dropships though. also if the player has double the forces, you'll be up against 24 enemy mechs because the AI is bad, so people will just complain harder about being out numbered.
So basically yeah, being able to drop multiple lances would be better if the game hadn't been made by a bunch of hacks who can't code decent AI or could at least utilize what resources they have in a way that would be fun.
Sure.
But that's just talking about HBS's ineptitude.
Being limited to 4 Mechs per drop isn't a good thing just because they can't design AI that isn't dogshit.
All in all, it's why I say that the game was a dissapointment.
Casuals can easily enjoy the game for what it is because they have no idea what they're missing.
>tfw no Men of War or Graviteam Tactics Battletech mod
Feels bad man.
You do know battletech stole a shit ton of mech designs from various japanese media right, you wouldn't come here just to talk out of your ass would you
It is shit
>stop being bad
It being ridiculously easy is part of the problem
>stole
it's a bit more complicated than that.
Impossible nowadays
If only this piece of shit was on Steam and had VR support.
My dream is for someone to make a super high budget Mechwarrior that was actually good. It's never going to happen but it's still my dream.
HOLD THE FUCKING PHONE
how comes nobody realizes the VR potential that is Mechwarrior. FPS, platforming or anything else are a literal meme approach because of the gimped movement mechanics VR forces devs to approach, but in Mechwarrior, you'd'be sitting in your VR cockpit looking around, aiming and pushing buttons.
IS pilots are inbred rad poisoned retards
says the tube baby
Exactly
Some retarded indie fuckers were able to figure it out, why isn't Pirana Games fucking jumping right into it
Because they are beyond retarded
They can't even make a functioning UE4 game, how do you expect them to do VR?
