>"why the fuck am I in this remake, you don't even see me in person until junon"
I hope that is what he looks like in the final game and that he got a slight redesign from the pretty boy look in the trailers. Sephiroth was a gaunt, creepy looking motherfucker in the original game, not some rockstar in his 20s. That screenshot better reflects that.
>"it's as if I'm in a remake or something"
you do realize he was supposed to show up in Midgar during Cloud's spaz outs right?
>you don't even see me in person until junon
One of many FF7 mistakes
FF7 remake mistakes, yes
yeah it made trailing him pretty boring IMO
But you see traces of him. You see his sword in President Shinra's corpse. Everyone is scared shitless of him. You play the Nibelheim flashback and he one-shots everything. Then you head south and see he fucking impaled the marsh snake that you can barely even survive at that point. It's a perfect setup for him.
fUUUck youuuuu
>Everyone is scared shitless of him
except the player
>I wish I was at my swamp
Lust.
homolust*
This
It builds your anticipation of him.
Because you're a child who didn't play FF7 when it came out.
lol fuck off
I played it in 1997 the day it came out at 13 with money I saved from my job delivering junk mail.
>hurr durr anyone who doesn't absolutely suck 7's dick never played it
Sephiroth showing up early is fine as long as they don't go too Vergil with him. Keep him as a spooky manipulator, maybe have one fight with his "normal" form before he vanishes and makes you fight Jenova, to be continued.
Retards. Not showing Sephiroth until a good way into the game, only the devastation left in his wake, is the singular creative decision that made him gaming's most popular villain for a decade. Everyone who played FF7 when it came out was in awe of him. The creators compared it to the shark in Jaws - that movie would have flopped if they showed the shark from the beginning.
The remake changes it for practical reasons (everyone already knows what Sephiroth is about, and they need to have him in the first part of the remake for PR purposes) but his impact will be like a wet noodle in the remake compared to the original.
I played when I was 10ish with my brother and honestly we were pretty scared. With the blood everywhere, corpses and the fact that only your cell was opened while you were sleeping.
I recon the scene would have no impact on you as an adult but playing as a kid it was quite the experience.
>that's what made him a popular villian
>not his ridiculously long sword
revisionism at it's finest
FF7 was incredible
The remake is laughabily awful, not worse than FFXV or KH3, but still worse than any other AAA game i've played since Uncharted 4
It's not even out yet you desperate faggot.
People know who he is already though
It's a remake you idiots. Why would they hide someone everyone, even people who haven't played 7, knows? It would piss people off.
they'll still reveal sephiroth in a flashback because in midgar it's jenova
>it's good because nostalgia
Amusement heavily colored with contempt for a lower life-form.
Those words fall on deaf ears on this board. Even with all the RLM they consume, the terms SUSPENSE and BUILDUP, or the 5 plot points are completely foreign. The average retard now needs everything spelled out for them. This remake could not even wait more than FIFTEEN seconds into the very first cinematic without playing fucking Sephiroth's medley in the alley.
I wonder how many times in this remake Cloud is going to have a headache and a fucking black feather will fall into frame.
What did Sephiroth do during the five year gap
The player doesn't know him. It's done for the player's benefit and gives you a concept of how much of a threat he is, building the anticipation. The Midgarzormr being fucked up says it all, seeing as it completely kicks your asshole in when you first encounter it, but Sephiroth strings it up like a trophy.
It is a good way to build him up and works well.
t. keklord
he can still be perceived as a threat by appearing and taunting cloud
thanks for the info, time traveler-kun
>The player doesn't know him
Literally everyone who has ever played a video game knows who he is at this point. It's not 1997 anymore.
he's jelly he'll never be this kawaii
SOLDIERs of the Locker Room
>"I know how to make a FF7 remake better than the original creators."
>He has access to a time machine yet uses it to shitpost on a Mongolian burka modeling forum
Lowest IQ board
Constipation.
Yes, I saw the Super Eyepatch Wolf video too.
Source immediately
Nigger, everyone knows who Sephiroth is at this point, even people who haven't played FF7. He's like the Darth Vader of video games.
people seem to have a really hard time understanding what the word remake means
Mad smol Tifa is the cutest thing
>that little Arthur first clench
Even better reason to not show him in this game so they could save him for the next one.
Think of how much hype that would have brought to the second game, for fans and new players alike. Everyone wants to see finally see him after being deprived the entire first game. Would have been great.
He fears a potential Netflix adaptation
I would be up for that.
All that remake talk made rewatch some ff7 and god was the city of the ancient gorgeous, loved that place back then. And the midgar serpent was so fucking cool too, seeing the one Sephiroth killed was one of my most vovid memories of the game. Also fuck, cd2 was a fucking wild ride, I remembered cd 1 going a lot further in terms of story.
I can get why this isn't everyone's favourite FF but to say it was a bad game you have to be quite retarded, shit was amazing.
A shame the translation is garbage.
Sean Bean plays Aerith, right?
TWISTED FUCKING PSYCHOPATH *firestarter starts playing*
Taunting is almost never threatening, especially if there's no actual threat. In fact, it actively makes your villain less threatening and more like a clown unless he's wreaking havoc and doing damage during said taunts. The big issue is it doesn't build suspense, mystery, or anything else, and that's what Sephiroth has going for him most since he crumbles when directly confronted every time.
Absolutely based retard. You don't change what makes a villain effective because people already know who the villain is.
You mean the Kalm flashbacks
Also
what if the only ones who saw Jenova as Sephiroth were Cloud and Tifa since that's how they remember him?
Sephiroth is meant to look like Aerith.
I knew who he was because I read the manual, everybody loved this guy, and he killed Shinra while letting me go. I thought he was helping me and the coolest fucking guy ever. Then I find out he went batshit after he found out his dad was hojo and he was engineered to be perfect, it never made sense to me.
holy fuck my sides
desperate
