It's basically a single-player narrative heavy board game. If you don't like that idea i don't recommend it.

You can go to the school library to study magic and some events give you spells. Just go to your spell and you can cast it. Most cost reason but some have other costs. If you have a certain old-god they cost doom instead

There are some ways to recover reason.
There used to be a way to basically get infinite xp by spamming spells that would convert reason to stam to xp to reason and it had a positive feedback
Spells need a slight passover to be in a good state
