Yeah, I really like how not only he is loyal to th group, but also brave enough to stand again danger despite almost dying by Mecha, plus the fact he is actually got good at fighting, hope he new moves and power-ups in the remake.

Considering he is saving Dragon form for his super mode, i think is safe to assume he may get some of those powers individually like the fire breath or the wings, but since then there is more to take from not only from the Yoshi island games but also Mario Galaxy 2 as well.
I haven't played the recent games so don't know if he has other new power ups in then.

axem rangers are at fire mario level, since red alone was fighting mario in fire form fairly evenly
