AMD drivers are known to be bad
NVIDIA for graphics, AMD for processors
nvidia because i'm not poor
nvidia, just because eats amd in raw power
and in cpus, intel, just because their cpus seem more stable, i saw last year digital foundry's video on ryzen 7 vs i7 9700k and ryzen is all over the place, the i7 was well composed
Nvidia GPU with AMD cpu
nvidia gpu
amd cpu
AMD seems to have given up on competing with Nvidia in the higher end PC space, so much so that they're releasing stronger console GPUs before releasing actual high end PC GPUs, so I'll have to go with Nvidia.
nvidia is jewish
amd is not jewish
AMD CPU, Nvidia GPU
I'd use AMD GPUs too if the windows drivers weren't such shit
Nvidia because they get much more developer support. Couldn't give a shit if AMD was cheaper if devs weren't going to optimise for them as well as the fact AMD drivers have been historically garbage compared to nvidia including just recently. Not saying nvidia has never had bad drivers but in my 5 years of using nvidia I haven't had any yet my friends who own AMD have all had issues in that time and now all own nvidia for literally that exact reason. I'm not talking games specifically either because one of my friends changed to nvidia when AMD wouldn't work properly in his 3d modelling software. I don't have any reasons to own AMD when nvidia exists desu.
I dislike Nvidia's constant jewery but I dislike Radeon's inability to make decent hardware just as much.
AMD because Nvidia are scummy as fuck, AMD also always has better value. But I would buy Nvidia if it were the better card, it just usually isn't unless you're a cuck who buys the latest marketed fashion shit like RTX 2000 cards.
>muh brand loyalism
I buy whatever offers the best performance in my desired price range
>But I would buy Nvidia if it were the better card, it just usually isn't
you're delusional as fuck
AMD if you ever plan to use linux
we got a free thinker over here
I buy AMD because I'm poor atm
Performance doesn't mean shit if you don't have consistent performance across a wide range of games or general stability of the card. Look at the 5700 and 5700xt they're both pretty good value but they suck ass to the point the internet was flooded with videos and articles of how shit AMDs drivers are just a week or so ago with those two cards. If I'm spending over $100 I'm making sure it will work and I'll pay the $50 or whatever premium for nvidia because I know it will work in 99.9% of scenarios without scrapping out like AMD drivers have been recently and throughout history even. The AMD drivers meme didn't come from nowhere.
Good goy
3dfx. simple as.
>nvidia will never use glide API for anything ever
Bought my 290 because it was a great deal at the time. Served me well for almost 6 years now.
t. retard that paid $800 for a 2080 that performs the same as a $375 5700 XT in half a dozen games.
Nvidia if you got money, AMD if you're a poorfag
but no support for next-gen shaders on the 5700xt..
I know that means nothing to you simp.
I've owned both in the past but AMD usually offers the best price/performance cards. Maybe they lack some proprietary eye candy effects here and there, but that shit is never worth the performance hit anyway.
If you have money to blow then Nvidia typically controls the high end market, but most people settle for mid or mid-high end cards.
Yea, I'm sure your $800 2080 will do real well with raytracing games, huh?
On one hand I want to support AMD.
But on the other hand, they clearly give way more fucks about the console GPU market than the PC GPU market, so I don't think my next GPU can be AMD.
You forgot having to put up with constant driver crashes, black screens, fucked up colors...
I'll happily spend the extra 50 bucks on a product that actually works like it's supposed to.
>You forgot having to put up with constant driver crashes, black screens, fucked up colors
i've been using amd cards for the past decade and that has never happened.....
Ask literally every Navi GPU owner. It's been SEVEN MONTHS and they still have no drivers that work properly, not to mention the Navi drivers also broke functionality of their already optimized older cards.
Literally doesn't happen.
At one time drivers was a valid complaint against AMD, but that was like 10 years ago. They release drivers every month with beta drivers multiple times a month now.
Says the now obvious shill who gives free money to AMD even thought it's a literal fact their products are half fucking broken. What use is a $450 graphics card if the software barely works. Kill yourself.
had less issues with nvidia cards
Meanwhile a few weeks ago.....
I've been using Intel CPU's most of my life as a PC gamer but my new PC is using a Ryzen 3700x and it feels fucking great. Never touched AMD GPU's because everyone bitches about their drivers but I wish someone would give Jewvidia some competition.
Go look at literally every forum, 5700 (XT) drivers have been broken since launch.
I hate the pricing scheme and greed of Nvidia but I need CUDA so there is really no way around it.
>I'm not poor
>9900k
Bro your 9900KS?
Making a new computer soon.
CPU and GPU are both amd, but it ain't making some super high end pc, they're just the best price for what they do.
The goal is 1080p 144hz.
Enjoy your 3.6GHz and broken drivers bro
Amd is best for CPU but you played yourself by getting an AMD GPU. Nvidia is objectively the best maker of GPUs. Hopefully that changes soon as AMD funnels their Ryzen money back into Radeon.
enjoy your new security vulnerabilities every week
A 9600K can hit 5GHz on air and wipes the floor with any Poozen when it comes to high refresh rate gaming
I've never had much success with ATI/AMD video cards, the driver support has always been rather poor for them. As someone who uses Linux as a primary OS I'm happy their drivers are open sourced but they're not of high quality for sure. That AMD is even back in the race as a legitimate contender is extraordinary in both CPU and GPU spaces. I threw this PC together in 2016 so which was before the AMD resurgence. In 2024 when I start looking into a rebuild I'll check AMD out first, their stuff has always been a great balance between budget and performance.
>but I need CUDA
for?
My rx480 has held up well for the last three years, I don't know what problems you guys have been having.
See
you seem really upset about video cards
its just Navi problems so all the nvidia fanboys try to pretend its AMD in general. i have a 580 with zero problems and my last 2 amd cards never had a problem, all my AMD cards have gotten boosted performance over the years too while Nvidia cards lose performance.
1080p in 2020 is cringe as fk
Because AMD cards literally cannot compete with nvidia at the high end and even at the midrange right now the 2060 KO demolishes anything AMD has to offer. Its really telling when one companies entry range card trades blows with the highest end card from AMD.
I always go Intel/Nvidia because the one AMD card I had was an absolute pain in the ass and shit just working is far more important to me than 10% extra performance in tasks I don't do anyway.
>friend has r9 390
>constantly reporting problems about it
>literally hates AMD with a passion now and will never ever buy their graphics cards again
>turns out it was a universal issue with all r9 cards which was caused by AMD changing from catalyst drivers to crimson
>took years to fix basic issues
>he now exclusively uses nvidia cards
AMD is creating their own enemies.
>the 2060 KO demolishes anything AMD has to offer
You are absolutely delusional or you are extremely uneducated on the subject. Not that the high end is relevant whatsoever.
I wouldn't mind AMD GPUs if it wasn't for their drivers and software. Just about every driver update would require a restart or two because something would crash including the update itself.
CPUs are just fine, though. I bounce between Intel and AMD CPUs based on the cost to performance ratios at the time.
>Not that the high end is relevant
You're fucking retarded if you believe this.
You see you started off with a decent post but then had to ruin it by claiming nvidia loses performance and now you're just going to make nvidia neutral fans who would have agreed with you dislike you and all other AMD fans. Its people like you why I probably won't ever buy AMD. Insufferable fanbase. I had no issues with AMD fans till you said that. I would have agreed with you.
im not a fan of anything, you obviously are though. nvidia completely abandons their older cards and their performance becomes mediocre. take the 1060 for example, it was more expensive than the 580, and now it performs worse than a 570. AMD boosts their cards and Nvidia abandons their cards, if you knew shit other than Nvidia marketing, you'd know this.
>build first gaming PC few weeks ago
>amd ryzen 5 3600 cpu and radeon RX 5700 xt GPU
of the games ive played so far:
>RE2R; runs 1440p60fps max settings fairly well, CONSTANT stutters when running around/entering new areas
>DMC5; runs perfect at 1440p60 max settings
>L4D2; ran fine at max settings but aiming seemed... unsmooth? jittery. probably since the game has no fps cap and runs at 300fps constantly, seemed better when capping it with external programs
>Mirror's Edge; mirrors. FUCKING. edge. an absolute shit show. constant framedrops from 60 to as low as 22. game literally dropped to 5fps at one point climbing through a vent.
are these common problems or did i get cucked for going with AMD and their supposedly shitty drivers? Mirrors Edge irks me the most because the game is from fucking 2008 and has no excuse as to not run maxed out perfectly. I understand that ME was designed with Nvidia features in mind but i turned physX off so? and i also chalk it up to compatibility issues with the game being so old
>$.05 has been deposited into your account
Should've bought a 2070 Super and a 9600K
it is common knowledge that the navi cards are experiencing issues, and that they are releasing massive driver updates as we speak to fix it. you should have done your research if you actually give a shit. just be patient and it will be fixed.
>the game is from fucking 2008
so are the drivers for it
there's a reason the meme exists
>j-just wait bro
>they'll fix it for good this time i swear
SEVEN MONTHS
SEVEN
FUCKING
MONTHS
AND STILL NO FUNCTIONAL DRIVERS
AMD IS A FUCKING JOKE
