have you noticed how not a single third party company makes exclusives for the switch? even tho it has sold more than 50 million consoles they have zero support from third parties.

inb4 platinum, they are not a publisher, they are a second party for companies willing to give them money, astral chain and w101 are nintendo IPs

Mario + Rabbids by Ubisoft
inb4 that doesn't count, so I'll add Golf Story as well.

Do indie devs count as third party?

Isn't gamefreak their own thing? Do they count as third parties or is their money so grand they become 1st?

Is this yet another thread where we list games, and you reply with
>doesn't count
?

smt5

they are like atlus for sega

that one is not a confirmed exclusive, every exclusive always say only on nintendo switch

Astral chain

OP do you mean a 3rd party that ONLY makes games for the switch? Or a 3rd party that has made switch exclusives before?

do third parties even make exclusives nowadays in general? the few we seem to get are mostly exclusive for 6-12 months before going to other platforms

Mario and Sonic Olympics by Sega

yeah but their first party is better than everyone else. what was the last good third party exclusive for ps4 or xbone? bloodborne?
you just drive the point that pc+switch is best combination, assuming you like nintendo titles.
though i guess I'm biased against sony's first party.

gamefreak is a second party for nintendo and the shit they release else where is indie tier garbage, also pokemon is nintendo owned.

platinum games do not made their own games until this year meaning that bayonetta and astral chain are nintendo owned, and Wonderful 101 is also nintendo owned but look, they made a kikstarter just because they didn't want the game only on the switch.

i am talking about real third party developers, atlus, sega, capcom, konami, bandai namco, koei tecmo, compile heart, idea factory, falcom, spike chunsoft

>gamefreak is a second party for nintendo

Not really. They can make games for other consoles if they want. And have.

blood borne is not third party, from software is a second party company just like platinum games

so pokemon is a third party game? you are a clown

No, its co-owned by Nintendo. With they made in collaboration with a third party company (Gamefreak).

The Gamefreak goes off and makes its own stuff, like Tembo the Badass Elephant for PS4 and Xbone (which kinda sucked, which is a shame).

That’s not what he said at all

not at all? only few titles they've put out this and last gen were exclusive, and chromechounds was even 360 exclusive.
second party implies not being under the corporate umbrella but being pretty much bankrolled by the governing company and from is definitely not that.
same with platinum, they're just a bigshot indie that gets contracts. they develop multiplatform titles all the time as well.

they don't though. that's a playstation thing.

do any of these count?

Op is probably gonna say that 'thet don't count'

Third party exclusives are a dead genre since Gen 7. They only existed because of market and technical limitations. With the death of region locking what’s the point?

>Space Invaders: Invincible Collection

Hm? Will this just be a compilation of every version or something?

This, and in the case of Nintendo they only got third party exclusives due to Japanese devs struggling with the transition to HD

>Muh exclusives
I don't have the time to care about this shit.
Does the console have games I want to play at a reasonable price? Cool. All I care about. You're stirring up shit for no other reason than being a faggot.

yeah this, a lot of titles were ps2 exclusive because it was the only market that mattered in japan. had nothing to do with any deals with sony besides getting the devkits

exclusives require effort
devs want to just reuse the same engines and assets they use on PS4 and Xbone.

but under the umbrella of big companies, in the case of from software is bandai namco, sony, activision

in the case of platinum is sega, square enix and nintendo

Let me filter out all that garbage you just posted.
>Bayonetta 3
>Bravely Default II
>No More Heroes III
>Shin Megami Tensei: NEVER EVER Edition
>Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town
>Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition

Sony were kinda assholes about getting ports, though. Turok Evolution and Sonic Heroes being good examples.

Third parties have no real incentive to make exclusives. Xbox has no third party exclusives, and PS4's are all timed because Sony pays for that.

id say it's arguing semantics at this point, it's a given a smaller dev latches up to some publisher that has established publishing deals with factories and etc. if there wasn't a concrete deal between and the developer it's a third party and that's that.

Sonic games on PS2 were awful and I don’t know why. Slowdown choppy and shitty

Okay? Sega helped publish Platinum gamed, so that can be used as an example.

I'm not sure why this is a point of contention though. All anyone did last gen was complain about Nintendo missing out on some of the biggest multiplats, which consoles like SNES enjoyed back in the day. Now that they have a platform easier to port games like Doom to, people are upset about it? What is it anyone actually wants here? Any time Nintendo gets an exclusive third party game, people bitch and moan until daddy Sony or Microsoft manage to get ahold of it.

I have a feeling No More Heroes III will be timed like the others.

Sony had deep pockets. You serioisly think they didn't use them from time to time? Even Nintendo was able to secure some exclusives using their own money. I think it's naive to believe it was all 100% third party enthusiam, especially when you consider how hard it was to port games to that console.

We aren't getting more games until the Switch Pro.

Something about the engine they used not working well on the PS2. They were meant to be on Xbox and Gamecube, which were stronger.

Then Sony comes along and is like "be a shame if you didn't make one for us...something unpleasant might happen..." so they shit out a port. And of course, because the PS2 had the biggest market, that version sold the most and tarnished the game's image.

> xenoblade chronicles
user....

you forgot rune factory 5, anyway xenoblade is a first party IP even more than Fire emblem since nintendo owns monolith but not intelligent systems

>still can't marry Venti or any other dragon
I didn't forget anything.

rune facory 5 is the new game, not the port from the 3ds

I know what I said nigger.

yeah I think that. 6th gen was also the semi-last one where consoles really had any quirks to them compared to developing for pc. look at how many devs flocked to 360 just because it was just straightforward and wii got a pass because it was gamecubex2.
once a dev dipped into ps2 during that time they stayed there because the install base was enormous and unless there was monetary incentive (hello capcom four) they stuck to it

“That one doesn’t count” the thread

What indie games besides Golf Story are exclusive?

(((they))) prefer to develop games where optimization isn't needed

dragons marked for death
cadence of hyrule
sports story

Kill yourself, Boco. You fucking piece of shit.

any good shmups on the switch?

Ikaruga is on it.

Wii got a pass because it was A. incredibly easy to develop for, and B. it attracted normalfags. Literally Gamecube 2.0 is fucking easy money for a lot of devs. It's naive to think there was never any money involved in getting devs to commit to your platform. That's always been the case. People thinking vidya development was just pure enthusiasm need to wake up. It's all about the green.

some devs develope exclusively on a console without receiving any money from the company tho, like falcom and capcom with sony

Did you not hear me? Kill yourself, Boco.

Sure, I'm not denying there are a few small devs like Falcom that do this. But I'd wager a title like Bayonetta 2 isn't staying on Wii U/Switch purely because Platinum believes in Nintendo or something.

I'd bet dollars to donuts Nintendo is making sure it stays exclusive for as long as humanly possible.

Boco hears ya.

Boco don't care.

At least stop your reddit spacing, asshole.

Speaking of, did I just dream that Sports Story was originally announced as releasing this month? Everything's saying it's going to be something like August now.

platinum doesn't own bayonetta, paltinumis not a third party company, bayonetta is owned by sega and sega doesn't care about nintendo putting all the money to develope the games, unlike falcom where aall the money comes from them and sony does literally nothing but being worshipped

it got delayed

Fuck, that was literally the only thing I was really looking forward to this month.

yeah, golf story is full of soul, indie games that are made thinking on the switch are usually full of soul
