FO76 is a dumpster fire but there's definitely a demand for it, ESO is reasonably successful and Skyrim's multiplayer mod had a lot of interest. I think they would have been better off starting with a smaller size spinoff with small party co-op instead of trying to go whole hog with an MMO though.
