I'm 30 and I don't mind it. I love the original, and though I expected for years for the remake to be shit, I like what I've seen for the past year and I enjoyed the demo.
I just hope that if the remake ends up bad, square cancels the project, and forbids the use of mods for ff7 so people will have to play ff7 OG with no mods for the rest of their lives

The balance is terrible, characters are just materia slots with no difference and the replayability is bad.
I'm a fan of the original and I enjoyed the demo and pre-ordered. Most of my friends around my age (mid 30s boomers) also seemed to enjoy the demo.
I'm not really sure how the average FF7 boomer feels about this game but we look forward to it.
Early 30 boomer here. I don't have a PS4 but I'll play it once it's out for PC. I also had my gripes with CC but still overall enjoyed it and I expect this to be the same.

The Sewers are a boss fight. The Train Graveyard is two screens.
The intro and the next reactor, Wall Market cross dressing and Shinra infiltration are pretty much it.

Actually far from true, especially if you don't super grind.
Tifa and Vincent are best deathblow users due to their equipment.
Male and female characters also differ greatly due to armor choices and so on. Let's not even get into why Cloud, Cid and Barret are the best characters if you do decide to grind a bit due to their limits and then not even talk about shit like the damage overflow bug and how Vincent is able to come from behind from being one of the worst to one of the absolute best if you super grind like 60k enemies or whatever.
There's definitely differences.
