>pirate 18 year old game
>internet provider sends a letter
Pirate 18 year old game
This simply did not happen
i wish theyd send a letter complimenting my taste in videogames instead
ignore it, they cant do shit
stop using torrents like a retard
so what? If they ever try to do shit about it, everything will become encrypted overnight.
At least this way they get some data to steal.
It's not 2010 anymore grandpa. You can still buy old games now. You're not just limited to the games that came out in the last 6 months that they stock at best buy. You can buy 20 and 30 year old games brand new from Steam, GOG or whatever.
You can download them when the copyrights expire, not before.
lmao why the fuck would I pay for videogames you fucking idiot fuck people that make videogames
Enjoy getting your internet cut off then.
is this an american thing? i've been pirating games since forever and this never happened to me.
what is the alternative Doctor?
usenet
I pirated lots of 2020 releases in order to get released from my Comcast contract. Had 9 months left but they discontinued service after I got 3 strikes, now I'm on fiber
>changes provider
>pay to pirate
lmfao thats smart
>20adcompaniesknowyourinstestineflora20
>he doesn't use a private vpn network
Just buy a ProtonVPN subscription if you're actually paranoid.
Internet providers don't actually give a shit about you pirating games.
They either:
1. want good boy points from their sellout government defending media conglomerate interests or
2. they don't like you using too much bandwidth because they're trying to get as many shekels as they can from as many customers as they can and the amount of available bandwidth is ultimately limited (even if you pay for unlimited)
Stop being an idiot and use VPNs or at least DNS servers.
fucking based, they gave me fiber as a shut the fuck up for the shitty service this angolan pricks provide, granted their are not real companies, just money laundries
t. Alberto Barbosa
>ISPS putting limits and threatening people who pirate
>All this effort yet they do jack shit to improve speeds
>DNS servers
based retard
sucks to live in some dystopian police state
Yeah happened to me to last year, I was floored. Knew it was time to VPN up.
It actually is possible to get sued over pirating even one game without a VPN. The chances are very low, they only choose a small small % of people to sue, and it's easy to beat in court (you just say your router was unsecured that day due to network maintenance and someone else must have connected)
Fuck you game dev I spend 10 hours a day playing your game and I'm fucking unemployed literally go fuck yourself you shit eating faggot why would I ever give you money lmao imagine doing a "job" for money fucking pathetic
Why is the word rat in brackets?
>it's easy to beat in court
Every single case where a person got sued for pirating, they lost the case. "My router was unsecured" has never worked in a courtroom.
Source: your ass!
>pirating shit for literally 20 years now
>had providers such as Brighthouse before it was Spectrum, Cox, Comcast before it was xFinity, Spectrum, xFinity, Frontier, etc
>everything from music, to books, to vidya, to film, photos, videos etc
>never used a VPN
>not even once have I gotten a letter from an ISP
i'm 99% sure the only way to get caught pirating shit in the USA is to either A) seed your torrents or B) torrent some honeypot FBI bullshit Avenger's movie that came out the same day.
seeding seems to get you in more trouble because you're distributing the illegal goods. they don't seem to give much of a fuck at all if you're just downloading shit.
cope
Prove your claims. A simple googling will tell me that you are incorrect.
mega.nz, google drive
>i'm 99% sure the only way to get caught pirating shit in the USA is to either A) seed your torrents
Not how it works. The bots that crawl torrent trackers for IPs don't give a shit what kind of peer you are, only that you're a peer.
I've never seen anyone manage to post with a cockbreath before, but here's your post reaching new heights.
You can't prove a negative.
If you want to argue "My router was unsecured" HAS worked, you have to prove that statement, since you only need to cite a single example. The reverse would require someone to link to every single court case in the entire world across all of time.
You can assume that the positive statement (it has worked) is false until proven otherwise.
Ive literally ONLY gotten emails from Comcast whenever I pirate an EA game. No other games other than EA games.
Luckily it's the prosecution's job to prove your router WASN'T unsecured, and since your router probably rolling-deletes its own logs every 30 days, that's not gonna happen
You're retarded, it's a lawsuit, there's no prosecution.
I've never had that happen to me. The only time I've ever had my ISP cut off my internet was when one of my roommates torrented Gemini Man.
Have to prove it was me then. You can't sue someone for something you can't prove they did.
dumb neet boy change your diaper
Civil cases like piracy lawsuits work on the "preponderance of evidence" standard, IE the company lawyer just needs to convince the court there's a more than 50% chance you pirated.
"Beyond reasonable doubt" is only for criminal court.
What you're trying to say is "it's a civil lawsuit" and yes, there is a plaintiff (interchangeable with prosecution for our purposes) and a defendant. You do not know what you are talking about. Please stop embarrassing yourself.
>has to turn off his vpn every time he posts on Yas Forums because all the servers are banned for CP
>"Beyond reasonable doubt" is only for criminal court.
no it isn't, who in the world told you this?
>IE the company lawyer just needs to convince the court there's a more than 50% chance you pirated.
i'm laughing IRL at your post just thought you should know
Ah yes, good ol' "IANAL" posts made by people literally taking dragon dildo anal as they post.
You literally don't know the first thing about American law. Go back to your third world nation.
what game?
Console children absolutely lose their minds about piracy
The concept of PC players getting games that cost $60 to console kids for free makes them go berserk. Nice "budget option" you have there. Make sure to pay the $30/mo fee to use your Internet to play games too
>internet provider sends a letter
Is this an American thing, or just a 1st world thing? I literally have never bought a videogame in my life and I've been with the same ISP for like 8 years. They've never sent me an email, or a letter.
OP here, it was Medal of Honor and supposedly the ISP claims EA knew about it some shit
>Luxembourg
>Third world nation
I'm OK with staying in my "third world nation" gringo. Don't you have to intentionally choke on a Kinder Surprise egg and sue Kraft Foods to be able to pay for your medical bills and college loan or something?
>everything i know about other countries come from 6 year old stereotypes.
I was you until I tried to get DMCV
It can happen
wow. Thats a great idea
curious how the law says its illegal for isps to look at their customers internet packets yet its them that will send a warning
curious
Yeah EA games are the only ones that I've ever seen anything about ISP emails.
>meu primo :D
It was Need for Speed Most Wanted wasnt it?
Torrenting is fine if you do it with a seedbox
Lol I can go and buy stuff while you sit around being poor ahaha
is it me or KAT now asks for NordVPN? tried that shitt yesterday after a year or two
en.wikipedia.org
>Preponderance of the evidence
>Preponderance of the evidence (American English), also known as balance of probabilities (British English), is the standard required in most civil cases and in family court determinations solely involving money
>Beyond reasonable doubt
>This is the highest standard used as the burden of proof in Anglo-American jurisprudence and typically only applies in juvenile delinquency proceedings, and criminal proceedings and when considering aggravating circumstances in criminal proceedings.
Civil cases = the side with more than 50% of evidence wins
Criminal cases = the State only wins with 99% of evidence, the accused wins all other cases.
that would be ironic
Do you have a 51% argument for my router not being unsecured on the day I pirated your sister's virginity?
Just use a private tracker, easy.
Couldn't you just not renew the contract?
>friend complains about getting notices from his ISP for torrenting shit
>use only fserv and XDCC bots from trusted sources
>never touched torrents, public or private, in my life
I don't get it.
is there any court in america were you donĀ“t have jury duty?
In 9 months, yeah
Otherwise breaking the contract early would cost an early termination fee, that's what a contract is
