I've given up all gatcha besides FEH (I love Fire Emblem and it's low time investment) and GFL (really, really love the story and characters).

I used to say GFL was held up by how amazing UMP45 and her arc was, but after CT I can safely say 416 is absolutely her equal.

Honestly, the 404 squad should just be the protagonists.

GFL is the only one worth recommending

Nope. Honestly, they could stand to increase the fanservice, it's pretty minimal compared to FGO or such.

It's got a really compelling, dark and pretty depressing story and (mostly) good characters to flesh it out.

The previous event was the tipping point to finally break your naive, kind and sweet attendant for example- she broke down and is now left cutting out a bloody swath of revenge.

Or prior to that, you'll see that the caring big sister veteran girl who's been helping your team since the start has been forced into all kinds of "off the record" missions. Including murdering/executing her own allies to keep things quiet. Two of the Dolls you probably think very highly of were almost victims of hers. One by beating her and taking her eye as a tropy before escaping.

The running joke in the community is that it lures you in with silly chibi models and cute girls, then whacks you with PTSD.
