The Last of Us Part II

The internet craze around The Last of Us Part II made me realize Ellie is much more mainstream than I have ever thought. I think Lara Croft is iconic, especially because of the classic movies with Jolie. But it seems her popularity took a nosedive in recent years with the games not performing so well after the initial reboot and the new movie just being... there.
In the other hand, I feel like Ellie is quickly becoming an icon (especially for gamer girls). I mean, just google her tattoo. So many people made that already, which is crazy. Her presence on social media (outside of the Yas Forums bubble) is huge. I also love to see react videos and people are always SO PASSIONATE about her it is crazy. The days the last trailer came out she was trending on Twitter worldwide (there were more Ellie mentions than even Joel, which had his big reveal in the trailer). Also, Ashley Johnson is like super popular right now because of her work, it is awesome. There is also the fact that TLOU is currently a much bigger IP than Tomb Raider.
