I know someone is bad at RE when they actually believe the "just run past enemies, you aren't supposed to fight them because of ammo starvation" meme. Literally not true for any RE game except CV and maybe Revelations 1 and 2. Doing full kill playthroughs of REmake2 on professional is fun and much easier than you'd think so do yourself a favor and try it out. HARD MODE: kill superfluous zombies like the ones behind the barred windows that can't actually hurt you.

I'm a generally new fan. I've been grinding REmake 2 in preparation for 3make. And what surprised me most is how much disposable ammo I have the better I get. I've gone needing to cash out on G1, to having around 40 something bullets when I encounter him, to having well over a hundred handgun bullets with no need to use the shotgun/ grenade launcher during encounter. I haven't attempted a kill all run yet but i think the ammo is distributed that way to keep new players from fucking themselves. You don't actually need all of it

In the originals you can run past enemies and conserve ammo because they can't run past doors.
In REmake 2 I believe you are actually meant to kill everything because otherwise the RPD building becomes almost impossible to navigate with Mr. X
