I have no idea why they nerfed them. Like it wasn't enough that the stats didn't change for G rank, they actually weakened a bunch of support moves like Weapon Upgrade for no good reason. I guess it's because they're safer than hunters and have 3x+ the carts to work with, but that's not really a good tradeoff.

Makes sense in the pre-World style because you had to concern yourself with resource management if you planned on doing any gathering either as a quest or during. Prowlers don't have that issue since they don't use human items and bring their own tools which don't take up inventory space. They also have infinite stamina. Not so much needed now since ore and insect farming is kept to a minimum in World, especially the latter since everything you need out of them you can get from the town farm.

Hot take: Don't. Fighting underwater was already perfect in Tri/3U. People bitched about it, but they only ever bitched about it because it was harder. Fighting underwater SHOULD be difficult for land based creatures, and provides incentive to do things to lure monsters up on land. Being huge babies isn't the fix.
