Dropped it ages ago, tried to jump back in with one of the last expansions but ground it had a dozen more currencies and none of my old cool looking gear was supported/upgradable to I’ve now dropped the game for good.

This. Genuinely one of the most pointless games to ever exist. Anybody who routinely wastes their time on it needs to get their head looked at.

I did a lot for a month or two after launch up until and including the first raid, but I moved on and when I came back to it after it was added to steam, a bit too much had changed [upgrade systems etc] and my character had its light level forced up to 750 for some fucking reason, and I lost interest after mucking about in the little football pitch in the Farm.
I'm sure there's some great improvements but I want the game I liked so much a couple years ago back.

Grinding for Pinnacle gear is pretty bullshit, especially since they limit the ways you can get them, but its only from 960 to 970. 970 is the current cap, after that theres literally nothing left to do in the game except play Crucible or Gambit.
They really need some more game modes. We need a single team Gambit variant that plays like Killing Floor. Just one fireteam vs waves of fast enemies and bosses. An endless mode would be pretty great too.

I got all the exotic handcannons and quit because titans are better than the other classes in almost every way. I hope the recent patches brings the other classes to their level. Fuck OEM.

Nah. Its all about Hunters, for PVE and PVP. Hunters can have the highest DPS, the best supers, the highest movement speed and ability to escape a 1v1. Warlocks and Titans are 2nd class citizens to Hunters.

I started playing recently and got super addicted to it. I don't spend money on it or do the missions that requite teammates, but I love the PvP and doing story-related missions.

I just wished I could wear cuter clothes than just generic armors that cover the entire body and face.

The only reason I kept playing was because I could execute faggots with my golden gun, the other hunter supers weren't anywhere near as satisfying.

the gunplay and combat are as good as any fps i've ever played, yet it's so god damn boring. There's no challenge to anything you do. We will never get a well designed, Bungie made, solo campaign ever again.

The challenge comes from the raids, but even then the most difficult parts tend to be the fucking stupid jumping sections. Only the Last Wish raid really requires a lot of cooperation when fighting Riven.

I do and I hate it.
The only thing keeping me stuck on this forsaken game is my stubborn ego wanting that Enlightened title while my clan is waiting for the new season to start

Day1 raid will be fun, but apparently thats not until season 11. Season 10 is nothing but Empyrean shit.

Agreed, main issue for me was 90% of the content is so painfully easy you can complete it eyes closed

I did at one point but I got burned out because I couldn't get a single weapon with the perk rolls I actually wanted.
And I'm not talking about some overplayed meta gun with a broken godroll, just guns that I liked with fun perks to shoot aliums in the face with. But no. Can not have.

not anymore. the game itself does not respect the player's time. and the devs admit to being unable to implement new content in their own engine without great difficulty.

is this a grindy game? i got it for free on ps4, can i solo everything? for an idea, i love monster hunter, which is a game about grinding.

like once a week when i'm burned out of the game
would probably play more if they had actual content added and don't talk to me about their seasons

The grind only really matters in a few places. You can play through all the campaigns, all the patrols, do all the bounties at any level. It matters most in Iron Banner PVP.

the raids are 100% not worth it anymore. i used to love the challenge and teamwork of doing them. they used to be one of like 3 ways to get top tier gear. but the artifact has pretty much negated this aspect and all the best gear stat rolls come from iron banner and the season pass of all things. the loot is also terrible. i cant name a single GoS gun despite having all of them because they instantly either get sharded or vaulted.

there is zero incentive to do these things anymore. the focus of destiny has moved from endgame challenge to the cash shop and endless grind. i fully expect trials to be a disaster for similar reasons as well

I prefer the Division 2. I prefer tacticool over Warframe styled sci-fi

Played about 400 hours of 1 and 2. When my friends dropped it I did too since half the reason I played was them. I can't stand the """""quests"""""" and the rotation of Gambit/Crucible/strikes + some bland seasonal activity killed my interest. The gunplay is fun, there's just nothing in the game I WANTED to do, just stuff I was made to do to get another gun I might use for a bit before equipping a different gun to finish some uninspired quest.

I did, but drifted off near the end of season of the undying. I just don't fucking care about the FOMO battle pass shit any more. I didn't play any of the 2nd season and from what I read it sounds like I didn't miss much of anything.

We raided for awhile, and it was the best part. But the same raid is only fun a few times and there aren't enough to carry the game entirely.

The game’s vision was ruined by incompetency and greed. It has shit endgame now instead of a real challenge and it’s all about grind and cash shop
The staffs that made a lot of the cool endgames are mostly gone and have moved on to other jobs. Bungie is a shell of its former self.

The company used to care but just shortly prior to release of shadow keep they were about to run out of money. Bungie was costing activision too much money with too little gain. The split almost fucked them over but now they have China money (netease) and they are funneling resources to their new IP while burning the destiny up to the ground with minimal effort to update
I mean, I can’t see how they can keep up when the real people who made the contents have either quit or got fired, not middle managers, producers (they have a ton there), bullshit recruiters, or leads who don’t do work, or thots who sleep their way up the company.

You should for your education of fps history play a little bit of it to see how good the sandbox and gunplay is. Then move on. That is the highlight of the game worth of studying. Content wise bungie dropped the ball, raid is the only redeeming thing about destiny but too bad you need a group to carry you through
