I like it too but Doom and Thor are two completely different things
Doom Forever
child need game to relax
I’ll admit that I haven’t been on the up and up on gameplay vids, but what I’ve seen makes me think of a game I’d see at a Dave and Busters or someplace similar.
The art style feels a lot more like the originals than Doom 4 did. The enemy and pickup designs are more faithful and they removed the piss filter Doom 4 had. Also, why do you give a fuck about the story? The lore shit is optional codec entries and the cutscenes are skippable, pretty simple and self explanatory, which is far better than the half life cutscenes strat of locking you in a room where someone dumps exposition on you.
>The art style feels a lot more like the originals than Doom 4 did
not really no
aside from the earth city and the Phobos base, every other location they showed so far doesn't resemble anything from 1, 2 or 64
>The enemy and pickup designs are more faithful and they removed the piss filter Doom 4 had
I agree with you on this one though
>why do you give a fuck about the story?
I don't, and the problem is that it seems the devs are trying to push it down my throat this time
>aside from the earth city and the Phobos base, every other location they showed so far doesn't resemble anything from 1, 2 or 64
Are you complaining about them doing something new? Would you rather they continue milking your memberberries with shit you've already seen before?
>the devs are trying to push it down my throat this time
Are they? Where are you getting this from? Have you actually watched any of the cutscenes in the game? They're shorter than most of the ones in Doom 4 and are skippable on top of that. I could be proven wrong when the game comes out but so far what we've seen doesn't seem lengthy at all.
Yeah, I know what you mean - it lacks grit
It reminds me a lot of the scifi shooters that were big 10 years ago
Here's your Doomguy Bros

>Are you complaining about them doing something new?
I don't mind them doing something new as long as it's not dumb. And from what they've shown, it's pretty fucking dumb even for Doom standards.
>They're shorter than most of the ones in Doom 4
It doesn't matter if they're shorter as long as you're asking questions like
>who is this long, white looking fuck? are these angels?
>who was this demonic looking priest I just decapitated?
>who's this Odin looking guy? why am I bowing to him?
>oh Doomslayer has a base now? when did he get that?
>why should I give a shit about this Marauder?
And if you're required to read a random optional codex entry to understand basic plot points in the sequel then you're doing something wrong
I wish it felt more of a D64/Doom3, offputting future facilities into unsettling variable hell areas. Maybe NuDoomGuy is too strong, but even Quake could maintain it’s weird atmosphere while having faster gunplay.
NuDoom reminds of me Diablo 3’s hellish parts, just feels tame on some level.
