Its actually incredible what they did for WoW. They built up the perfect storm for die hard fans. But they stripped away class identity, lore, story telling, for ease of gameplay akin to a call of duty lobby. I still remember when LFG was announced, a gnome warlock in my group said “This is the beginning of the end of WoW.” He was right.

Wow was fucking huge for years and it really messed with their heads. They always thought they knew better than the players and wow being a massive hit for several years didn't help.

Looking back at it, it was inevitable. WoW was the perfect storm and it was built on being a game for casuals. The only way for it was down.

Not at all. Although I was maybe 12 or 13, I remember how absolutely comfy I felt running to Booty bay and talking to the hordes of people there. I’d dance on the roof with the pirates and fish in the ocean, go into aquatic form and troll the people trying to do the tournament. I had a “druid gang” of 6 diff druids, we’d run around in two seperate groups

I had that thought while I was taking a stroll through the park. If they simply pulled the plug on WoW after wrath, maybe release another years worth of content instead of working on cataclysm, it would’ve been remembered as a masterpiece. Like that one band, “my chemical romance“, disengaging at the height of popularity solidified their place in a lot of people’s memories.

Starcraft 2, diablo, warcraft, it was fundamentally recognized as a titan of gaming. And it deserved it. Now nearly all of their leading titles that were showcased is ruined, such as Warcraft & Diablo. They ruined their legacy with poor design choices, profiteering, and all of their designers who’s been with them since the beginning leaving. They tried to resurrect their showcase stallion and were left with a poorly put together Frankenstein

If that’s your honest opinion I respect that but I disagree. I remember the hype quite fondly of everything building up to the final battle against Arthas. He was the perfect villain. It was like Lord of The Rings almost. Ontop of it too, all the races and classes had an identity. I still remember people role playing their classes even though I was on a PvP server, Garithos.

I miss when you had to do older content and gear up to do the hardest shit, now all the old raids become obsolete in a month due to bethnic shit

Its terrible It has cut content out of the ass (zones, raids, questing, features),
it brought DKs to the game which are not only lore breaking but were stupidly op all throughout the xpansion,
it had little to no raiding content.
it removed attuning altogether so you didnt have to work your way to a raid, just hit cap and you are instantly allowed to do so,
it brought RDF to the game.
Dungeons are LITERAL hallways that become a super slog after 1 playthrough, also they are easy as hell and dumbed down from their TBC counterpart.
There is like 4 sets for like 400 pieces of gear in wrath because reasons. everything looks the same.
Zones look like complete shit compared to WC3 Northrend.

the fact that TBC lets you control your own progress already puts it above every other xpac.
