USE IT

USE IT
JUST. STOP. HOARDING. ITEMS

WHAT GOOD ARE THOSE ELIXERS IF YOU NEVER USE THEM BECAUSE YOU'RE SAVING THEM FOR SOMETHING THAT NEVER HAPPENS?!
WHAT'S THE POINT OF SAVING AMMO IN THAT GUN WHEN YOU GET BY USING THE SHITTER WEAPONS?

LIVE YOUR LIFE! ENJOY THE GAME!

THANKS SHIA! I WILL!
>use them phase1
>get wrecked in phase2

>use items
>progress to a part of the story where I need items to survive
>can’t anymore because I used them earlier
>have to restart my campaign
Th-thanks Shia

LAST LEVEL YOU SAID THE NEXT BOSS
SO JUST USE IT

I totally defeat the point of endbosses because I can spam 20 elixirs that I never used.

Sorry Shia kun

BUY BLOODVIALS YOU FUCKS. STOP WASTING ALL YOUR BLOOD ECHOES ON LEVELS THAT DO JACK SHIT, BUY BLOODVIALS AND STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT RUNNING OUT

>Kefka fight
>He uses that attack that drops everyone down to 1HP
>Still hesitate to use one of the 5 or so Megalixirs I have

Did you guys know Gau can just inflict Charm on everything in the game and they will just kill themselves because it never wears off and nothing has an immunity to it?

Name one game where you need heavy consumables to survive an encounter

Name 2 games where this has ever happened to you.

Even bosses?

No you will not divide me from my items.

Not him but every classic roguelike operates on this model. That’s literally the mid and end game of the warrior class in angband, consuming items to make up for the complete lack of casting. Although that doesn’t help their case because in classic roguelikes you’re expected to consoom as you go.

Yeah. It might have been fixed in the GBA version, I dunno because I've only ever played it for SNES. Some flower gives you the Rage

You don't know that I wont need them later Shia. Stop trying to get me to ruin my playthrough.

maybe the item isn't very useful if I'm not using it

Fuck off Shia. I'll keep hoarding and there's nothing you can do about it.
>Play Breath of Fire V
>Thought I was at the last few bosses
>Started spamming my dragon moves
>Last saved at around 80% because I thought it was gonna be the last fight
>It wasn't
>Couldn't complete the game.

>Should I use items?
>But then I have to spend money to buy more
>When I need that money for armor and weapons
>Don't use items and buy more armor and weapons
And thus the cycle continues

What if the next boss is harder and I'll need the items then?

I use ALL my consumables now. I've broken that habit of hoarding consumable items.

this but unironically

things that never happened

>save items for use on boss
>try to use them on boss
>items not allowed in boss battles

JUST USE IT

>play BoF V
>save often
>can't save anymore
Nice game.

>sell everything except half the health recoveries after every dungeon
I'm not a magic cuck so I don't need the mana potions and I don't get poisoned so I sell all but maybe 1 or two of the antidotes.

>making a piss easy game even more easy
Sorry Shia that's not happening

This is a lot more difficult in a blind playthrough, especially when your stack of ethers is 5 or less, assuming you can't simply buy more.

Look at these zoomer retards that have never played games like Metro or STALKER that require you to have ample filters and medkits and ammo to progress certain points

always save them for the post game superboss

Attached: no.jpg (1280x720, 65.42K)

>People tell me Silent Hill 2 is really hard because of the shortage of ammo
>Literally use nothing but melee all game on standard enemies, pull out my weakest guns for bosses only
>Get to final boss
>Open up with all my hoarded Hunting Rifle ammo
>Dead in 20 seconds flat
>mfw

Attached: hulkster.gif (408x308, 2.42M)

m8 I've finished Metro 2033 original on ranger difficulty. There is literally ONE segment in the game you cannot survive due to a lack of filters and that's the library because the NPCs take a full minute to open the fucking door and you cannot get to the spare filter in time

It's bullshit game design and nothing more

Metro is really generous with filters most of the time and stalker has one hit kill headshots so you don't use much ammo.

What if I enjoy hoarding and having 99 of everything?

b-but that 2 second 100% crit rate is too good to use now

BB is balanced around spending your echoe first on levels and the remaining echoes on vials. Always leave the hunter's dream with the lowest possible amount of echoes.
Also, vials increase price as you kill bosses so buy a lot early.

Prey was so unbalanced. All that effort they put in the crafting, exploration, and recycling system and it's really useless since the game gives you resources out the ass and is easy as hell so you can just play it like a call of duty game and still get by.

So you admit there’s an example. Also there’s another if you play the DLCs. Dumbfuck anglo don’t reply to me anymore.

best thread on Yas Forums

underrated

I just finished a run of Final Fantasy 8 and made a point of not hoarding anything.
As is the case in that game, I was too OP to be hassled by anything very early on.
Not sure if I should now do an FF7 run or just wait for remake.

>hoard all items for the final battle
>reach the final battle
>realize that by this point, all of my items are outclassed by my skills and magic

There’s many parts in Metro Exodus as well. You don’t know shit buddy

There's zero parts in exodus. The game constantly gives you crafting materials. Then resets everything once you leave the area.

>MH let's you use a farm to grow crafting materials
>Can get everything needed for potions up to the second best ones
>The best one requires a material you have to gather on your own one by one
All those hundreds of ancient potions I've stashed up will never see use because each one is one kelbi horn I'd need to gather back. I don't care that they hand the potions for free during event festivals now.

You're right. I stayed the fuck away from Exodus after how goddamn awful Last Light was.

>never spend any gold at all
>never use anything but the bare necessary
>finish game and Im rich as fuck and have all the important items
>instant regret because I know Ive been hoarding for nothing
>"fuck I wont do this next game"
>do it next game

No one gives a shit about anglocuck opinions

>Forced dialogue segment which is completely unskippable killing you is a good example of failed conservation

Yeah okay shit for brains
End yourself

There’s multiple. Too many to list off actually. But I’ll give some examples: there’s the final Novosibirsk and the part where you have to drive through the swamp in Sam’s Story DLC. Both of those parts can get you stuck if you don’t have enough filters.

No one gave a shit about Metro Exodus either so I guess we're even

>waaaah show me an example
>waaaah that’s one example and it’s bad design!
Dumbfuck anglo

BoFV was made in such a dickish manner deliberately.

What of games that limit how much items you can carry, say, only 5 potions at once?

I never used elixirs or ethers in Pokemon until like gen 5. Tbf as a kid I didn't even know what they did, and they were in the way in RBY due to the limited bag space so I just deposited them.
Pokemon in general is such a hoarder game.
