You can sense the fear the controllers are experiencing when Freeman ascends up the elevator and they all focus their attention on him. In the earlier chapter Lambda Core, they even go out of their way to leave their dimension just to prevent him from entering. This part in the game is when they all realise its too late and throw all the shit his way but to no avail. Also, it's really satisfying to kill these flying fuckers while they let out that god awful screech.

Is paid Black Mesa much different from the free one? I thought the free one got rid of way too much fun stuff because it wasn't "realistic" I think the Xen artstyle is a bit overwrought too, it loses a lot of the atmosphere. I like how the Scientists appear to be tracking your progress through Xen, and when they read your coordinates in the Gonarch's lair you suddenly see cache upon cache upon cache filled with rockets being teleported in. I like to imagine they're having a minor panic attack back at Lambda when that happens.
