Sorry, wrong pic.
a fucking tree
Hello, based department?
>The best villain in all of Final Fantasy.
yep. but again. I am dissapointed in how easier ZA was.
>villain
Wrong, cause he wasn't a villain.
>he's a genuine asshole doing it all for his brother
>he ends up basically fighting for the same thing you are by the end but he's still an evil dickhead
>beginning of the game sees him being assigned as Consul in Rabanstre to mend relations with the people
>ten minutes later he's back in Archades starting his coup
>ends the game melded with a rogue deity
It's a shame XII's story was so fragmented.
I'm going to use his famous quote back at him. "Who are you?"
>villain
>won humanity the freedom from the immortal jews
>Kino
Delita
Exdeath
Vayne
>Cool dudes
Garland
Kuja
Sephiroth
>Underrated
Emperor
Barthandalus
>Garbage
Kefka
Zeromus
Cloud of Darkness
Ardyn
Seymour
>Complete Garbage unless R=U then it's kinomaximus
Ultimecia
Never played MMO or the sequels so can't comment on them
R=U has been debunked so many times.
*blocks your path*
>R=U has been debunked so many times.
even by a writer:
kotaku.com
>villain
He literally just wanted to free humanity from Occurian rule. He was basically the hero of the story.
Ardyn won me over when he countered my warp strike and kicked Noctis in the nuts while he was on the ground. Absolute kino.
I'm going to miss this magnificent bastard in XIV
Ardyn was okay but then the DLC bent over ass backwards to turn him into a "did nothing wrong" badguy and it was fucking disgusting
>Only relevant for a single expansion
Okay
occuria hate him
The most misunderstood FF villain of all time, both in-game and in real life
Delita is trash, cardboard cutout villain, agree with the rest
What was Barthandalus' endgame again? The whole game is completely forgettable, but for some I reason my first thought is that he was pretty much doing the same thing Vayne was.
I legitimately don't remember what his plan was. The end of that game is a blur to me
>What was Barthandalus' endgame again?
to make the party strong enough to they can kill Orphan which would destroy Cocoon, which would allow them to return to wherever they came from after the mass sacrifice of everyone on Cocoon.
>6th most popular ff character of all time
Yeah my nigga Emet is gonna return
Use one of your party members to destroy the artificial world Cocoon for an instant mass human sacrifice. All the human souls would move to the afterlife together and the sheer volume of them would pry open the door to the other world wide enough that he could find his lost goddess
That's a league of legend's character.
>so based it takes over XIV's story too
His plan was to strengthen the Arcadian empire for Larsa to rule peacefully. Freeing humanity from the Occuria was technically Cid and Venat's goal, which Vayne inherited.
FF12 could've had such a wonderful story if only was well written, paced and narrated... but nope!
Better waste 1/3 of the game doing errands for some random unimportant guys another 1/3 going back and forth around the world for some unimportant reason, and the other 1/3 grinding to beat some unimportant generic boss
The Fal'cie just wanted to be free to be spooky otherworldly spirits and hang out with God but God forced them into robot bodies and maintaining the world so Bart came up with a plan to destroy their shells and force open the passage back to his world by destroying Cacoon with Ragnarok.
Objection!
Based. Best boss theme too
youtu.be
True, but I love what story there is though. The localization is fucking next level too, you can tell the translator was passionate about his work.
> I showed you my Nethicite now answer me
and waste time with Vann
The gods of XIII are dicks who abandoned everyone. The Fal'cie are lonely and unstable beings who think everything would be better if they managed to call back said gods. To do this, they wanted to sacrifice all the residents of Cocoon in one great cataclysm, creating an observable path to the afterlife that they can then tear open. For this, he manipulated the cast into believing the task granted to them by Anima and Pulse required them to destroy Cocoon.
You spend the majority of the game helping the princess come up with ways to blow up the empire only for her to realize near the end that blowing it up was wrong and that there's good people on both sides.
It all goes to waste because you freed Ultima.
if you thought this was literal you're a pretty big brainlet
>He literally just wanted to free humanity from Occurian rule
Why is this supposed to be a good thing? Were Occuria evil? No.
Might as well fight for anarcho-capitalism while you're at it.
We know it's you Gerun, you can stop falseflagging now.
XII is an unfinished master piece.
God i miss ivalice
Humanity would just stagnate while being forced to live according to the Occurias' whims. Even if being freed from them caused a disaster that led to the events of FFT, at least in the long term humanity would be able to rise above such adversity and advance on their own.

Well they do have all those clone bodies
He did literally nothing interesting. I heard how great he was, and played through all of Shadowbreaker expecting his Sephiroth moment. It never came.
>FUCK ARANEA
I WISH!
He's not really meant to be a regular villain. People like Emet because of the internal conflict going on between his nature as one of the original Ascians and the realization that summoning Zodiark may not solve anything.
>Mooooom! It's my turn to be God now! I'm gonna kill you for no reason too!
>Come back here Etro don't leave me!
>Haha hey Fal'Cie, you guys are all robots now forever.
>Lightning, be my waifu right now while I become everyone's soul!
He really didn't need to become a roid druid by the end. Matsuno always fucks the ends that way.
XIII was truly a fucking mess. Its designs were all trash too.
We don't really know how much of the end was intended by Matsuno and how much was the team winging it according to his notes after he left.
How can one person be so WRONG
He also completely misunderstood a theological crux with a national one in his politics. He only did good based on how others reacted to his actions, and Ashe reeally was a wild card in this situation.
He didn't leave that soon into development for this to be an actual question imo
Don't forget that his Lightning obsession has been secretly going on since XIII
Got it. So he's more like Sephiroth than Vayne.
>clone bodies
Could you imagine the cockteasing only to reveal it's just mook-tier Ascians running around with them?
Killing himself through some mooks to reset everything. Basically an Asimov plot?
wrong
