So Yas Forums I decided to do an experiment since HL1 is now free for a limited (nice one greedy valve) time I decided to play it in 2020.
I finished HL2 and it was a OK-ish game. Played HL1(in 2002 or 2003) and remember it to be a terrible peace of garbage and quit when the ninjas showed up.
So now in 2020 I decided to play it and record my experiences and all the problems with HL1.
I want HL 1 fanboys to defend this terrible peace of shit of a game. I'm just saying now that literally nothing of value would be lost if this game was purged form every hard drive in existence.
So first things first I did play whatever steam gives to download in 2020. The game has a HD support by creating black bars this is good. What is not good is that the sound is broken.
The sound system sabotages you ! The character voices are to quiet while the music blasts on an ungodly volume. I want to boost what the characters are staying or minimize the music volume.
I think the MP3* category is for character voices however who the fuck knows. I was thinking music is categorized under “Sound effect volume”.
Only it looks like the character voices and environmental sounds are linked. So I have no choice other then to boost and live with terribly loud environmental sounds like foot steps and switches and doors opening to hear what the characters are saying.
I pity any headphone users!
If anyone knows the solution to this I can not wait for the help.

My ears hurt from the environmental sounds how can this be fixed in 2020 is the game has a fix for not getting stretched on HD displays?
