Endgame was the least of the first game's problems, most of the ridiculous shit there was mainly acquired through specific grind and a lot of work while not being necessary. The bigger concern is the earlier difficulties and the severe damage and now Ki damage inflation.

Every weapon is really fun and great to use, but you don't necessarily need to start a whole new playthrough to use a weapon, you can just reset your skill points if needed and continue/go to the next difficulty.
