more belt

Was Barret always this much of a nigger?

Can't wait for this weapon

Attached: rocketpunch.png (120x120, 15.06K)

Are this belts to fixate his jacket?
Sems like a hassle to put on every time.

Much more so in the oroginal game
But he said the n word a lot less

Shitty improv body armor maybe?

No, they launched a terror attack which gave Shinra an opportunity to pin a major crime on them while maintaining perfect plausible deniability. It's literally a Pearl Harbor/9-11 conspiracy.

That's the only thing I didn't like about the demo.

>tfw AVALANCHE literally gets buried by a midgar city plate
>tfw you realize president Shinra would spend 10 billion gil for a PUN
"THAT'S LIKE DROPPING A SECTION OF THE CITY, ON ANOTHER SECTION OF THE CITY. JUST TO MAKE A POINT"

He's an angry black activist-terrorist in the mould of Huey Newton and Malcolm X. What do you think?

Barret is built for _______

If anything he doesn't look niggy enough imo, looks more like a Pacific islander than nigga.

Saving the planet.

They just took the vermin of the city analogy too literally.

You didn’t play the original right? The implication was always there, that they let them in on purpose.

SUCK IT DOWN MERC!

Protect Marlene.

He looks pretty black...

Letting them in on purpose is a little different to them blowing up the reactor themselves

Appearance wise? He was much more of a nigger in the original
Personality, character wise? It's about the same, a bit more exaggerated in some ways, a bit less so in others

But Avalanche is responsible. It not like they regretted later

his skin makes him look mulatto, but none of his facial features are typically african. have you ever seen an african? not even american negros look like that. granted, it's a fantasy game and no one really looks like cloud. maybe czech people minus the hair, i can't really pinpoint it. more like generic japanese/caucasian animu features.

picking cotton

Rocket Punch isn't in FF7R, but CannonBall is

SHID MAYNE THEY WAS KILLIN' DA PLANET.

>b-but it was always that way!
>Jessie, amateur terrorist, wondered why her bomb was bigger than she expected!
>that means there was an entire subplot about Shinra false-flagging Reactor 1 despite there being no scenes or dialogue to confirm this
>her just fucking up the first bomb she ever made is out of the question
Shills need to try harder, this is just a retcon and no one knows if it'll be for the better or worse because the game's not out yet. Instead of gaslighting everyone into thinking it was in the original, try to explain how it 'expands the lore' and ties into the new subplot about AVALANCHE being implicated with Wutai. They have to retcon more shit or else it's retarded that Shinra didn't self-destruct the reactor while AVALANCHE were still inside, considering they waste tons of money dropping a plate on their ass to kill them later if that event stays the same

When will you guys realize this is more of a reboot than a remake?

Attached: 1560448123271.png (680x373, 405.54K)

will this game have more lines than the midgar part of the original? because it didn't really seem like it

wow Yas Forums nazis really don't like POC in their videogames, huh? i thought it was a myth.

D A S R I T E

Yes, not trying to be rude but are you joking?

Almost forgot, there is Atomic Scissors too

Leave your shit US politics out of EU hours, please. I don't give a shit about you Americans.

IT SAYS "REMAKE" IN THE GOD DAMN MOTHERFUCKING TITLE

no

i haven't played the original in a while but it seemed in the demo like a ton of lines were cut to me to make the dialogue flow more like an action film

>498520365
But user, Yas Forums loves barret

Am I the only one who took this scene as 'Shinra tried to blow up the reactor so they could kill Avalanche in the explosion before they had time to escape'?
The reactor was going to explode regardless, I don't think there was some kind of conspiracy motif

Yet you bring us up in your conversations.

They're rewritten the game from the ground up, so expect more of that.

It isn't a remake, though. It's a reboot. They change, add, and retcon so much that it isn't a remake anymore.

A remake is remaking the same game in a different engine with upscaled models, etc. but this is a reboot.

Pretty much. I didn't mind it, because it was not a case of Avalanche not detonating the bomb, or of them planning a smaller detonation. My impression was that they fully expected to level the place but just their bomb failed to cause a chain reaction. I guess we'll see how they incorporate this.

Video game fans don't know what remakes and reboots are anymore. 18 years ago this would have been called a remake by everyone just like the RE GC remake.

Yes because that's retarded. Shinra waits until after the bomb has shown itself to be a dud before ordering the destruction of the reactor. If he wanted them dead at the cost of a reactor he should have ordered it while they were fighting the Guard Scorpion

i don't think they're going to fundamentally subvert the original plot, if anything it's likely just for the sake of having more intrigue to delve into in order to expand the Midgar section of the story. FF7R having new plot threads isn't "retconning" anything, it's a new game with it's own story. they aren't necessarily saying that's retroactively what hapenned in 7.

Blowing it the reactor themselves is even more retarded, Shinra dropping the plate is a retaliation to Barret reckless act of defiance, its to show them that Shinra isn't a group to be mess with. But now out of nowhere, Shinra is planning a false flag attack from the start, WHY?

>When will you guys realize this is more of a reboot than a remake?
That's literally just semantics

They had cameras on them in the elevator, they could have blown it then. Or maybe they were confident in the Scorpion. Either way, one of the trailers has hologram-Shinra publicly accuse AVALANCHE of conspiring with Wutai, which is a false flag designed to paint them as public enemies.
>the reactor was going to explode
it didn't when Jessie's tiny bomb went off. Shinra had to shoot the place up. Don't ask me why they had a 20-30 minute timer on a bomb that small

WE'LL SEE

The RE GC remake is a remake because they stay mostly true to the original. There's little that has been changed. It has been modernized, but it isn't as drastically different as RE2RE.

I honestly wouldn't consider RE2 and RE3 remakes as remakes, either. But the developers keep throwing that term around. Xenoblade Chronicles is a true remake, but it has to be called a "remaster" because the term for remake has been changed over the years.

Attached: 1557617890983.jpg (360x360, 29.86K)

Why wait? Just blow up the reactor while Barret and Cloud busy fighting the scorpion robot

Heidegger mentioned an attack on the President's life, likely by pre-Barrett AVALANCHE. I suppose they know more about AVALANCHE by that point in the remake

We don't really know whether XBC is going to be a remaster, remake or reboot
They could retcon stuff to fit it into XB2 better, we know there's new content (bionis shoulder), so there's definitely some level of significant change

I would not consider Xenoblade much of a remake. Isn't it mostly just the same thing wit updated graphics, different character models, and a few extras?

That's exactly what remakes used to be back in the day and why I said the RE GC remake is a true remake.

Ever since the Tomb Raider reboot came around people think reboots have to be exactly like that game.

Did you pay attention to the cutscene, at that point, they don't even know who Avalanche is, they even specifically said it not related to the group that want to kill the president

I just used 'retcon' as shorthand for 'change to the original story.' I agree though, extending Midgar requires them to create new plot threads. We'll see if it pays off once the game's out

Not really. "Back in the day" they ranged from what people consider remasters now and what people consider reboots now. It's only in recent years that everyone's started arguing and gotten stricter with the usage of the terms.

WE WUZ FREEDOM FIGHTERS N SHIT

you're talking english language semantics about Japanese developed games. I don't really think it matters anyways, Remakes are always distinct and never supercede the existence of the original in any way

>They could retcon stuff to fit it into XB2 better

There'd be no point really because XBC2 shows you the same events XBC does scene for scene at the end. The only reveal they could do is about the true identity of that faggot Ontos.

The Dyne bossfight is something I look forward to

Attached: Dyne_Artwork.jpg (360x450, 20.33K)

Not quite, Heidegger only says he's currently investigating if they're related to the assassination attempt, he doesn't know yet if they're unrelated. He is unfamiliar with name 'Avalanche' at that point, but he knows there are hostile elements that Shinra needs to deal with/can potentially exploit. The only thing I have to go on is that Before Crisis nonsense where there was another eco-terror cell before Barret's that was more violent, I don't know for sure yet. It's all I can think of right now

I'm quite impressed by the VA's work, the slight drawl to Barret's voice works great, I just hope they keep it in mind for Dyne.

>Shinra is creating a scapegoat out of Avalanche now rather than just using them because they happen to be there
>which means Shinra isn't just looking for an excuse to drop the Sector 7 plate, they're trying to push it ahead of schedule
>which means Barret is just an unwitting pawn in Shinra's schemes rather than an idiot who provokes the wrong people into doing something terrible
>which means his character arc of admitting his crusade against Shinra was wrong will never happen because he didn't actually do anything

How much does Shinra pay you, shill?

Attached: f815300ef62ee820fe89658bf9bb6761.png (372x395, 150.24K)

What does "assassination" have to do with blowing up their own reactor? Not sure if you notice but the reactor is at the edge of the city and Shinra building at center of the pizza thing

OP isn't wrong though, Shinra did blew up the reactor

i hope that the remake expands on the avalanche v shinra story with additonal content. missions. pre text. flashback?

tifa hates barret
