i just did a replay of the game on ultra violence in preparation for eternal and i legitimately dont think i have the attention span to do another playthrough on nightmare, ive played through this game so many times already i need new content

We don't know for sure yet whether they are actually this universe's angels/Heaven.

She's some sort of angelic otherworldly god like entity that's pissed off that Doomguy is keeping Earth protected. She claims that "this is humanity's chance to repent".

I am near entire computer iliterate except for playing games and internet. Can I run this based on i3-660D 3.3ghz, 1060ti, 8gbram? Don't know what any of this means.

Almost finished, been distracted with things. Just got to finish Vega, the most fun level in the game and then deal with the second worst level in the game and a disappointing final boss. God I hope the bosses feel better in Eternal. Cyberdemon was pretty good and the Guardians were a little cool, but Olivia just goes down like a bitch.

That is the Khan Maykr. So far it's looking like the Seraphim is not part of the Maykr race, but we shall see. Apparently it is confirmed though that he's the robed figure we see on several promotional material and we will get to see him this game.

The Bethesda account is not the launcher, it's the same sign in shit that they do for Quake Champions and is only required to link up rewards from the Slayer's club and multiplayer, it seems like you won't even be required to log in for single, but they have to include it because of the multiplayer component. It will probably have denuvo, yeah. I just hope that this time it doesn't fucking come with 3 minute load times and micro studders during gameplay.

I never finished Doom 2016 because both times I tried I made it almost to the end and then the game crashed and corrupted my save. In the last one I was literally in the final boss fight.

Whoever the Seraphim is will determine everything. There is a missing "Father" of Urdak, but it's suppose to be an energy being. So unless the Seraphim turns out to be made of pure energy and nothing else, then I doubt that he has anything to do with that.

The flat ass round arena with the boring generic boss fight attacks were a real turn off for me. The hell knights imo were the absolute worst. But it looks like the boss fights in eternal are what they were supposed to be in doom (2016)

I liked the bosses in 2016. They were probably the best boss fights to ever appear in a FPS, which isn't saying much because throughout the history of video games boss fights have always ranged from lackluster to downright fucking terrible in first-person shooters. There wasn't much of a bar for 2016 to raise when it came to bosses.

I thought the art book made it fairly clear. This female Khan is staging some sort of coup and has by some means made the Father vanish. The seraphim is likely the Father or one of his subordinates.

I think they wanted to be a little too true to the OG. Boss arena were flat, with maybe some cover, but overall you didn't have much to work with, since enemies were limited anyway.

Now that they are more comfortable and feel like they can break away from being traditional, we might see some really cool stuff. I wonder how the Marauder 'boss' will feel and just how far into the game it will be. Doom Hunter is mission 4! If it isn't 7, I'll be disappointed. All of the Super Heavies seem to be getting treated a bosses, so we better get two Barons of Hell with a bunch of spectre in the arena, just for that nice throwback.

I don't think so. It instead made it seem like the Khan had gone insane from trying to keep the Maykr alive and that the current crisis wouldn't have happened without the disappearance of Father. They need Argent energy as a replacement. Though it wouldn't surprise me if the Khan had been alive for so long that they were remiss to let go of the position.

I know, but I wonder what his boss arena will be. We have already seen that in cutscenes, it's the portal scene with him unsheathing his axe. But will it just be a small enclosed room and we get just enough space to dash around and be introduced to the perfect spacing? Or will we have it open up? Or maybe will we have to fight two at once after killing the first one, much like the Doom Hunter boss?

I kind of want to replay Doom 2016 before Eternal but kind of don't because I don't want to burn myself out.. Also the game itself kind of becomes boring in the last third of it, and the bosses are lame

I think he's referring to this. I just read the whole art book and I don't think it's open and shut about the nature of the Maykrs, although they are definitely not literal angels from the actual Heaven unlike the demons which are literal demons from Hell.

They are the ones behind the destruction of the Doom Slayer's world, Argent D'Nure. They granted the Night Sentintels the power of Argent Energy, and spurred them on in their crusade against Hell. Ultimately, the influence of Hell and Argent Energy subverted the D'Nurian theocracy, leading the Betrayer to give up the location of the wraiths to the Demons, sealing the Night Sentinels in Hell with no escape. The Maykrs give societies Argent Energy in order to pit them against Hell because Hell uses souls to create Argent Energy, the Maykrs actually have a pact with Hell and work with them directly.

I guess that would explain why the demons go around conquering worlds and absorbing them into hell but what do the demons get out of this? Souls for energy? Sure but what do the demons need energy for? I mean so far hell looks low tech as fuck. And even if they need it for something important, why do they need the maykrs to start wars for them? Is hell not capable of starting shit on their own?

Artbook states Hell is basically "alive" and eats whole dimensions full of mortal souls for sustenance. It also says the more pain and suffering it causes the tastier the souls are.
