Waiting on Prime 4 for as long as it takes.
What changes could you make to the mechanics of a metroid game without making it not a metroid game?
It's hard to say. I want to say they could play around with more movement options, but I don't know if things like the space jump would make it redundant. Newer types of weapons would also be nice. It may have been in the right direction, but I wasn't a huge fan of the melee system from Samus Returns since it almost made it required more than it should have.

Third person metroid game but with devil may cry gameplay. You still explore the world and get pickups. Of course keep it non-linear.
Cool as it sounds, last time we tried something third person and heavily combat oriented was Other M, made by Team Ninja. Not to sound like some coward, but I'd rather they stick to tried and true, with some minor tweaks to gameplay.
I could get behind this after Prime 4, when we've safely revived the series.
If you like metal, and Metroid, dis is for you metroidmetal.bandcamp.com
Yes, I happen to like both of those things, but the question remains whether I'll like both together.
I forgot I bought a switch in anticipation for prime 4 until you just mentioned it. All I have for it at the moment is that smash wii u port which I haven't played in over a year.
My Prime 3 figma was delayed from February to May.
Fuck.
I agree, but can you imagine how could it would be? All the narrative set up is there for Cuh-razy gameplay. Speed booster. Double jump. Wall jump. Homing missiles grapple beam. Protagonist with superhuman agility and strength and armor.
Yeah, it could be amazing. If executed correctly, could end up being one of the best Metroid games ever.
Mine too, user. It will be here in no time. Hold strong.
>loli dark-samus
What kind of new powerups do you think would get involved?
> Energy Thrower (projects a close-range flamethrower style continuous burst appropriate to whatever your current beam is, i.e. icy blast for ice beam)
> Cannon Blade (exactly what it sounds like, a sharp edge projected from your arm cannon, used to pry open doors and enemy armor, adds new melee attacks)
> Impact Thrusters (gives you a boost as you hit things, for long aerial combos without the grapple beam)
So when Metroid 5 gets announced I wonder will it happen at E3 or around E3 month since E3 could be cancelled.
How many other series could Samus stomp through if given her usual end game kit?
I keep forgetting I have Prime 1 on my backlog
What's the best way to play Prime on dolphin? Any controller setups, kb+m injector?
>tfw Metroid prime is a great creature
>But Retro cant explain HOW AND WHY it got into the crater in the first place. Or how it got the reversed engineered pirate tech.
>Or how the pirates even knew about it at all
They should have just said that MP got the powers through mutation
Go for primehack. You can literally find it by googling "primehack". It's a KBM injector for the Trilogy collection.
Nothing just add more power ups damnit
with the original controls on a gamecube controler
I thought it was the phazon causing it to mature, and that Phaaze just routinely launched Leviathans with creatures like Metroid Prime to various planets for the sake of assimilation.
>Phazon seed crashes on Tallon IV
>Chozo scramble to contain it
>Create a barrier that can only be opened via artifacts and is impervious to damage
>Somehow a metroid got in there before the space pirates even got into orbit around talon iv
So unless they retcon and say that the Talon IV Chozo had metroids with them. Which they wouldnt because they didnt want to disturb the native ecosystem as much as possible. It is a plothole which can never be fixed.
Make it possible to finish the game out of order, even outright with minimum upgrades if the player is skilled enough.
What I mean is, the Metroid came with the Phazon seed that came with the Leviathan. The whole "Metroid somehow got trapped" story was the original one, but with what we know from that Metroid Prime shell that was discovered on Phaaze, I'd be willing to bet they retconned it in favor of Metroid Prime simply hitching a ride on the seed to Talon IV.
But metroids didnt exist on Phaaze until Dark Samus brought them there. So unless she is a time traveling Wizard. Its a plot hole that cant be fixed.
Well Phaaze is established to be a Lovecraftian eldritch horror. Who's to say it doesn't have command of time and space?
Where did it say Metroids didn't exist on Phaaze before she came to it? I don't remember reading that in any of the logs.
>So unless she is a time traveling Wizard
I mean, it's Metroid Prime, and Phaaze did a lot of weird shit if I recall, like creating a fucking wormhole, warping a Leviathan to planets. Would not at all be a stretch to say it had those powers. I would not at all be surprised.
How would the metroids get there? They cant fly through space because its too cold. The chozo never visited the place even though they knew about it. Space Pirates didnt know about it until Dark Samus told them after she took over their entire species.
>inb4 those on the Valhalla
Those were phaze metroids which were highly mutated and could just phaze out of existence for a while
Metroid Prime is a plot hole that cant be fixed
bros, are we gonna get prime trilogy on the switch?
That art style looks familiar
The Metroids that the Chozo created are a species similar to the ones that exist on Phaaze, and possibly based off of their design.
No, the chozo created the metroids. That's the canon, their name means Ultimate Warrior in their language.
closer to Prime 4`s launch, maybe. But it`s not as sure a thing as people are making it out to be
Prime 3 is gonna be a massive headache to port over. You would almost have to remake the entire game from scratch due to the motion controls.
So good minus the bad weight painting at the hip making the flesh bend inward.
They created creatures known as "Metroids", but their design is similar to a species that have existed before them, or they're clones of the ones that existed on Phaaze. It's possible Metroids aren't as entirely unique as we're made to believe, and that there are beings quite similar to them which absorb energy in the same way. It's a big universe.
>Actually using headcanon
Come on dude, do I have to break out the wiki?
metroid.fandom.com
Honestly dude, I'm not even 100% serious about all of this. I'm just arguing tonight for fun. I can't really explain to you WHY Metroids are on Phaaze. No explanation has been offered to us.
>unironically using the word "headcanon"
Like I said, maybe there's something that exists which happens to be incredibly similar to Metroids in the universe. Or maybe one of them launched a Metroid in a pod for some fucking reason and it somehow landed on Phaaze. WE DON'T KNOW. WE MAY NEVER KNOW. Maybe Metroid Prime 4 will have the answers. But just saying "It's a plothole" doesn't really answer anything, so I'm not going to say that. I'm arguing in the context of the Metroid universe as if it were an actual one. If it were real those would be the explanations I would put forth.
I suppose the simplest answer is "It's all fiction, I ain't gotta explain shit", but again, doesn't make for much discussion of lore.
Conversely, we could just go with this theory that she's some Lovecraftian Eldtritch horror that created a fucking time loop Those are the only answers I can give you, besides the simple "It's fiction, I ain't gotta explain shit".
When will he finally be a main villain instead of just second fiddle?
