I played the shit out of the first Pikmin but never got to play any of the sequels. Wanted to try 2 but could never find it in a store.

>Leave Pikmin somewhere safe
>Just go off on my own and punch all the enemies to death
And I just won

Dolphin is your friend, plays both of them perfectly. 3 apparently doesn't work that well in Cemu though.

I punched a Mamuta to death like that.
I'm not sure Dolphin will run on this, considering it has a broken fan and heats up to almost 100C when I try to run Elsword, an MMO from 2008.

>Spotty Bulbears both roam and revive after death
I hated these fucks
Same thing with Gatling Groinks
Always made sure to kill and claim both first

What the hell is this, Pikmin 251 or some other hack?

Are there any Pikmin enemies that wouldn't immediately be dispatched with a swift kick from a normal-sized human? Just curious, only played 1 and at most they hit knee height.

Why are Pikmin 2's environments so kino and why are Pikmin 3's so soulless by comparison?

Because the larger focus on the human elements and treasures is a better evolution on the world building than just constantly doing nature themed areas.

Not to mention the enemy variety in 2 destroys 3. They made so many enemies you rarely see more than once or twice to surprise you.

It's interesting to see the JP names of the creatures.
E.g. Shearbug -> Parrot Maggot
I still prefer Bulborb to "Chappy" though.

2 is my favorite but 3's environments were excellent. 3 has some things I'm iffy on but the locales certainly weren't one of them.

I wonder if 3 was at all gutted at some point during development. Pikmin has never been a major seller and wii u would have a lot of the higher ups nervous about releasing a sort of niche game.

I think 3 focused too much on the scoring side game which was my main issue. I just want a large co-op campaign with dungeons and cool shit to explore, I'd rather all their resources go to that.

WHERE THE FUCK IS PIKMIN 4

They cut out a lot of returning enemies from 1/2 including Honeywisps which makes no sense.

Not to mention the secret video with Louie is not even obtainable normally. They clearly rushed to finish the game after the Wii died.

Imagine being able to explore entire continents as one big open world somehow. They model so much of the levels that i wanna explore it.

>Not to mention the secret video with Louie is not even obtainable normally.
Didn't even know this is a thing til now. Just watched the files and one by olimar said some of his files had gone missing. The videos were probably collectibles at some point.

>no breath of the pikmin game to play
Imagine

I don't think I ever encountered this enemy and if I did I don't remember it.

I always shat myself when I found a group of babies in a room. Pikmin 2 was pretty effective at giving you chills

>you can stick around after dark
>shit gets real when the sun goes down

This would be sorta necessary for a really consistent world but it would ruin the magic a little, nothing they make can compare to something only implied.

I think caves do a pretty good job with night-like environments.

can you play pikmin 2 mutliplayer online with dolphin? I'm not familiar with it but I know others use it for local multiplayer games.

Attached: 1563242366023.jpg (1080x807, 55.72K)

For the coop challenge maps? Far as I know that should be possible like any other multiplayer gc game (besides maybe phantasy star online).

If you mean the campaign, the original didn't have coop so you'd need a hack for that and I dunno if that exists. But it should.

Were people really upset about pikmin 2 using brand products as treasures?

Apparently a simple AR can get co-op for the main game

Mireclops, probably.
Or the wraiths, since they're goo.

>flooded mall
That's some nasty shit

they gave 3 away for free on club nintendo.
i have it but i've never played it.

I'm not crazy about 3 but it's nice enough to be worth playing if you have it. Some areas are really atmospheric.

NO

I could kick over a Mireclops, might stub my toe though if I'm not wearing boots.
kicking a wraith would probably splatter it against the nearest tree or rock at least, but they'd probably be fine.

I would turn of my gamecube

Because you played 2 when you were young. 3 is better in every way.

That made me cringe IRL from the sheer brutality of it all.

So we all agree 2 was the best in the series?

3 was the worst but Alph was alright.

>Your honor, my client's eating disorder developed as a direct result of the unscrupulous work conditions he's been subjected too..it should be the president of hocotate freight paying HIM for the damages!

>that feel when a Pikmin thread.

2>1>3

But three is only marginally worse than 1, and obviously it has a number of great things going for it like the challenge mode and multiple captains.

Cursed image

I thought it was charming, especially the made up names they would come up with. I hope they do more of that kind of stuff in the next game

>Were people really upset about pikmin 2 using brand products as treasures?
They were? I actually loved it. Kind of gave real value to finding stuff in my opinion as opposed to just generic items. Was fun to see what odd thing you would find next.

This, I loved it, especially the lore for them in the piklopedia.

I dunno, having active Bulborbs roaming around along with other nocturnal predators while you are limited in sight to your light and Pikmin taken by something you can't see sounds like it would be strong incentive to return to the fucking ship.

and it made it seem like you were actually on planet Earth, and created opportunities for some dark secret to be uncovered regarding the status of the human race. They should bring that back.

>your pikmin getting snatched by some spooky creature after your turn your flashlight away from them
Sounds terrifying

they need to do more with the conductive powers of yellow pikmin too I think. Far as I can recall, there hasn't been a boss fight yet where you had to create a circuit and use it to electric the boss, who maybe standing in a puddle or something?

Attached: yellowpik.jpg (1000x563, 44.85K)

Explain?

More?

The shadow cast over the snowy area in Pikmin 2 looks like a power line and transformer.

For the most part this is all I have for the most part.

Imagine having your specialty become a universal ability in the sequel.

That's Pikmin 2? I don't remember that part at all.
