Who knew Yas Forums's most requested character to be playable in Smash was none other than the First Lady of fighting games herself, Chun-Li!
Chun-Li is too big of an icon to not include in Smash, she was the first playable female in a fighting game, so it only makes sense that she represents lady fighters in the roster of mostly men.
If us Chun-Li supporters were more vocal about Chun-Li's inclusion, then I'm positive Sakurai would add her to the roster, because knowing Chun-Li, she can bring so much to the world of Smash, I just know it!
Please Sakurai, and please Yas Forums, give Chun-Li a chance!!!
I have no rebuttal! I just think it would be cool if she was in. :) She's the only one of the Street Fighter big three who isn't in Smash! Her absence is way more noticeable now that Ken's in it.
I am not trolling as some might think, I am 100% serious.
Chun-Li could come with music from Third Stike since that soundtrack is a masterpiece, and it's a crime that there's no Third Strike music (and also a crime that Chun-Li is still not playable in Smash). Her spirit board could also come with missing Third Strike characters.
Now, why Third Strike? Well, that was the SFIII game which brought back Chun-Li, and she was very prominent in the plot and the future story if it's expanded upon in a future entry. If that's too much for the Smash team, then they could always make Chun-Li a standalone Fighter separate from the pass, similar to Piranha Plant.

Personally I think that if we're gonna get another character like Piranha Plant, it should be Adeleine & Ribbon as a tag fighter. But I agree on everything else! She'd even have two supers like Ryu and Ken! I want Amaterasu too! I know both of them is too much to hope for, but how cool would it be?

It's always cool to see other ride-or-die Chunners fans out here. I'm personally very late to the Street Fighter party - I played nothing but Smash and Soul Calibur for years - and I totally get why, from a business standpoint, Ken got the spot. But if the embargo on characters that are already Spirits is lifted, Chun-Li is the first one I'd like to see. It also helps to remember that she's popular with people in the FGC/Smash/wider nerd communities that don't necessarily post on Yas Forums.

Idk, I think we're more liable to see a Tales rep unless Geno gets in. I'm not sure how well juggle combos transpose into Smash. Soul Cal I don't feel is too likely either, as cool as Nightmare or Yoshimitsu might be, because basically half the female cast would get the Mai treatment in Spirits/stage background cameos.
