Can anyone compete with Capcom when it comes to horror nowadays?
New RE3 details from OXM magazine
I dont like the mash x to get zombie off
I know it was in the originals and the mechanic isnt the problem
Its the button prompt, it ruins imersion
This action shooty tooty shit is no "horror".
You could say that about every RE game aside from the original and REmake.
So its like the original RE3 then.
OH NO NO NO NO NO MICHAEL
>Spiders confirmed
Gonna go on the PC and wait for the mod that removes them. Unless they're cartoon tier.
>nemesis enters safe room
>he overwrites your saves
>>Hints towards even more original enemies on top of the returning ones
w-what
>Can anyone compete with Capcom when it comes to horror nowadays?
Gee, the only thing that could be scarier is a original IP instead of rebooting a entire franchise piece by piece
Why do people not like spiders in video games? I havent noticed spiders being that annoying, and the ones in the demo seemed really cool.
>>Spiders confirmed
Wrong.
Nope. ALL the classic RE games are horror-adventure first and foremost. They just have an added layer of real-time combat on top of this basic foundation, and even that plays quite a lot different from the generic point&click shooting we got now.
i hope spiders are in the game. alot of people are scared of them but I have to say that we really arent that scary
Why?
spiders confirmed
>**-Spiders are confirmed to be in the game! They have a tendency to scuttle all over the place, sometimes towards or away from you, or drop on you from the ceiling. (**Also confirm Drain Deimos and Spiders are separate enemies in RE3 and behave differently.)
Spiders aren't annoying to me. It's one of the most common phobias throughout the world regardless social status, culture, or religion. I'm not bitching for their inclusion, it is what it is. I'll make the best of this and wait to see if they're hyper realistic/creepy as usual or game-fied enough to be docile cartoon tier creatures.
Based
>original enemies
>they bring back the spider/human hybrid from one of the scrapped designs
we are really going home huh?
Is there a chance you can change the camera into something decent in the game?
If Nemesis can enter save rooms then I hope they use a more advanced AI that just wanders instead of tracking and honing in unless you are close enough. I ain’t got time for that shit. Or at least save it for hardcore mode so I can choose that when I’m ready.
>magazines still exist
warms my heart
Post RE memes please
That doesn't take away the major focus on action the series took with RE2 onwards. It's hard to feel scared in that game when you're than likely to have more than 60 bullets in the police station and I don't even think I need to mention RE3's massive fucking arsenal, quick dodge, environmental damage system, generally faster gameplay etc. It almost plays like a more horror focused Dino Crisis 2. There's no denying that the games still have adventure elements like exploration and puzzle solving, but to think that those aspects weren't becoming more streamlined as the series progressed as early as RE2 is pretty weird.
I like you spideranon!
Came here to post this. Especially the OXM, holy shit. I wonder if the version from my country still exists as well, probably not.
>major focus on action the series took with RE2 onwards.
That's a false meme that you should stop parroting.
RE3 on Hard mode especially is survival horror at its purest, with no bigger arsenal than that in the OGs. And the dodge mechanic is a very unpredictable, unintuitive feature that can't be trusted.
>Gonna go on the PC and wait for the mod that removes them.
Why would you do that?
pc version is obviously the only version you should buy but why mod the spiders out?
>nemesis uses all your ink ribbons overwriting all the slave slots
to scary. i literally cant play any level with spiders and usually ask my brother to get past that part for me.
>alot of people are scared of them
>It's one of the most common phobias
You guys realise its a horror game right?
you're supposed to be scared
I am unable to play even vanilla Skyrim without getting the mod that removes/replaces spiders.
> Raccoon city is not open world but massive with a tonne of sidequests ,backtracking and different paths to approach various areas. The subway acts as your travel hub
for real? not sure how to feel about this
how old are you people?
skyrim I can kind of understand since its a fantasy game so someone whos scared of spiders may not want that
but in a horror game the whole point is to get scared
The game is $43 on GMG, yay or nay?
yay
yeah why not
better than waiting until after release and paying $60
>Hunter beta confirmed
Is webm related a new hunter gamma or a new enemy?
>all this information
I get that they're trying to promote their game but announcing the enemies beforehand fucking ruins it
The first time Nemesis enters a safe room won't have the same impact anymore
So is the MP going to be a poor man dead by daylight or something?
It's a redesigned Hunter gamma
At some point you've trained your psyche weather consciously or unconsciously to be afraid of spiders, you can attempt to untrain it. It takes effort but bettering our self's should be a daily priority
This cover has a lot of soul
opposite for me, they barely showed stuff compared to RE2.
The game is getting released in less than 4 weeks and before a few days we only had like 1 or 2 trailers.
Grave nigger?
What.
Original re3 was much more action oriented than re1-2, so no problem there
thanks for exposing yourself
I dont like that its an instakill grab
would have preferred it just be a high damage attack like hunters in the original version
>you should stop parroting
From my own experience? The game really aren't as hard or thought provoking as you make them out to be. Especially the puzzles (aside from a few in RE3) got downgraded in the sequels. The ones in RE2 can barely be called puzzles sometimes. As for the weapons, I did screw up there, since the different ammo types for the grenade launcher and such definitely don't count as different weapons. I also don't see how you would RE3 of all games in the series as "pure horror" since that game just fucking throws tons of fast zombies at you right from the beginning with plenty of ammo to use on them. (Though to be fair, it can get overwhelming until you reach the police station, assuming you don't know about most of the ammo placements in the intro) The Nemesis encounters were the only times the game actually felt unsettling. Why didn't you pick REmake?
Wait, Xbox has a magazine?
If it's open city like Evil Within 2 but with more stuff in it then nice.
Maybe you can break free if you have enough health
what costumes you want in?
Fucking faggot.
or just dont get caught ? is old enough not to make such mistake
how come the in game model looks nothing like her
All of them
from res1 to 5 and the dino
They look identical, What are You talking about
its the hair, the face is exactly the same
dino crisis
Police
If they're smart about it the next game they release will be a new title, but knowing capcom we'll be married to remasters for atleast 7 years before we get something else again.
>The game really aren't as hard or thought provoking as you make them out to be.
Now you're succumbing to the typical topic-switch of memeing about difficulty.
That is not the point here. Rather, the main topic is providing the familiar, classic playing style, that keeps the games from becoming forgettable and generic action games like majority of the genre's titles have been for 15+ years now.
The elements like puzzles, map design and enemy behavior could and should have been improved upon similar to how REmake1 polished and expanded RE1's core designs.
>pure horror
Not what I said. Pay attention:
Pure SURVIVAL horror.
As in, you are trying to SURVIVE the horror, and need to play things smart, and think fast at times too. RE3 puts much more on the players own shoulders, what with the gun powder and such. Together with the dynamic and RNG elements it introduced, it evokes a feeling of uncertainty and risk.
>Why didn't you pick REmake?
Sonny, I picked up REmake already when it came out in 2002. I have literally purchased and played every single main-line RE game the year they originally came out, on a good half a dozen plus systems by now.
Putting the de-makes of 2 and 3 in the same sentence with the REmake1 should be a punishable crime.
How can people be afraid of spiders but not the brainsucker or deimos?
And that's a good thing
Fuck RE4, 5 and 6
>all of the saves are right before he's doing a mating press on Jill.
cause they’re pussies, imagine not having a spider bro next to your computer
>actually killing spiders IRL
I seriously hope no one here does this
>The elements like puzzles, map design and enemy behavior could and should have been improved upon similar to how REmake1 polished and expanded RE1's core designs.
It appears that's what they're doing with R3make, user
>Expanded Raccoon city with varying paths to approach your objectives
>Plenty side objectives for extra loot
>New puzzles
>Potentially no old enemies cut, new enemies added on top
goddamn what a soulfull 90s style cover
Based
>we
people who just want attention
I'm liking how they seem to have moved Jill's story a bit further in the cannon, where it goes down right in the middle of social breakdown rather than post-apocalypse. I'm all down for witnessing society fall apart
>Those loudspeakers droning orders, advice and safe shelter locations through the city streets non-stop
It helps to create a real surreal feeling, like shit this can't really be going down, can it?
>>Spiders confirmed
Any screenshots?
are that many people really arachnophobic or do people just ham it up?
there was another popular survival horror game, sinisistar, and so many people said they couldn't play it because of the spider level
Look up "phobia" in a dictionary
Alright, first off
>Sonny, I picked up REmake already when it came out in 2002
You completely misunderstood. I meant to ask why you didn't pick REmake as an example for survival horror.
>The elements like puzzles, map design and enemy behavior could and should have been improved upon similar to how REmake1 polished and expanded RE1's core designs.
Which they seem to be doing for RE3make. As for the rest of your post, I kinda see what you're getting at now and I think I agree. Let's hope they keep some of the randomization of the original, because cutting the choice system is already a huge fucking bummer.
>Putting the de-makes of 2 and 3 in the same sentence with the REmake1 should be a punishable crime.
Talk about overreacting.
RE1 outfit is essential
Apparently you'll also hearing distant gunshots and probably less of them the more the game goes on
It's a common fear along with insects, snakes, heights, tight spaces etc
>remasters
at least learn the meaning of words before you come and embarrass yourself on the internet
That indie dungeon crawler game on PC became infamous because of a spider level and the amount of people who quit playing or never bought after hearing about it. Phobias are phobias.
>>Nemesis can enter the saferoom
